Smith goes on to reflect on Barkley and Jacobs and adds, “What makes it even worse is……Saquon Barkley to the New York Giants or Josh Jacobs to the…..Las Vegas Raiders who are both looking for New Deals. Neither was able to reach a long-term deal with their respective franchises the Giants and the Raiders.” Following the failed development of both RBs, Smith talks about one of the best RBs in the league and how he has been held out from getting a big contract.

ESPN’s Smith points to Derrick Henry

Smith goes on to point at some of the numbers from last season with respect to scrimmage yards. He points to 7 players from the top 9 in the category of scrimmage yards as being an RB. He built up to this with his player highlight for Derrick Henry and how little he’s paid in the league. Smith speaks about Henry, “This is a man that is universally recognized as arguably the best in the game. He has been nothing short of sensational in his time with it as a Tennessee Titan.”

He demarcates a clear difference in terms of the pay standards between RBs and QBs. Smith talks about, “We see quarterbacks get paid 200 million DeShaun Watson got 230 million we see defensive players making some money. Derrick Henry has made a grand total of 46 million dollars in seven NFL seasons. Here’s a guy who’s rushed for 8,334-35 yards and has scored a total of 81 career touchdowns.” As Smith finally breaks the RB story into the mainstream with his words on his youtube channel. It might inspire a revolution as to the measures NFL and the RBs as a whole may take in their interest.
