For years now, India has produced athletes that have made the country proud from their achievements at the global platform. Milkha Singh, PT Usha amongst other like Yogeshwar Dutt have made sure that our country always gets a mention in sports other than Cricket.

Naturally, when athletes these big, who act as true representatives of sports in our country are neglected and in return Bollywood actor Salman Khan made the Ambassador of the Indian contingent, it was sheer disappointment, which Yogeshwar Dutt expressed very aptly in his Tweets:

Salman Khan, who plays the role of a Wrestler, much like Dutt, in his next movie, has a huge fan following in India. His fans got to Twitter, insulting and humiliating the Olympic medalist with all sorts of attacks.
Dutt accused Salman of promoting his film on the big stage of Olympics.

Very humbly he named PT Usha, Milkha Singh as two people who worked very hard to make the nation proud and hence deserve to be acknowledged unlike the movie star, Salman Khan who might be more famous in the country, but  has no relation what so ever with sports or Olympics.

It is indeed something that we as Indians should be ashamed off after what all Yogeshwar Dutt got to hear from the public just because he questioned the appointment of the Ambassador, which in true sense, was the right thing to do.

The appointment of Salman Khan as the Ambassador does throw a lot of light into the miserable state our athletes are in. People who have given their everything for the sport, for the country, are neglected to be recognized.
