The Xbox Series X was announced in December 2019. So far, we know about the console’s hardware specs, how it looks, and how the controller is designed. We are yet to see the new controller in action though. We got a glimpse of the PS5’s DualSense Controller when Geoff Keighley previewed it at the Summer Games Fest. But we still have to see the Series X’s new controller in gameplay mode. While we wait for that to happen, there is more news on the controller’s features.

As we all know, the new controller will feature a share button. Sony and Nintendo already have this feature and it is about time Xbox did too. As we gear up for the launch (still no clue when that will happen), there is an update on the ‘Share’ feature coming to the consoles. (Yes, we said ‘consoles’)

Xbox Series X Controller Share feature

As reported by Windows Central, “The newest Xbox One preview update for Alpha Skip Ahead users now sees those foundations, with options for controller mapping within the capture and screen menu. That’s not a huge surprise — the new Xbox Series X controller will also support Xbox One — bringing all social upgrades to existing hardware, too.”

Hence, ‘consoles.’ The ‘Share’ feature will also work with the Xbox One and this is going to make a lot of fans happy. The site also shared an image from the Alpha. Take a look at it below:

They report “The new “Share” submenu includes the option to remap the new Xbox Series X Share button, redirecting to the Xbox Accessories system app. This button isn’t present on the existing Xbox One controller, yet provides an insight into how Microsoft handles its implementation. Microsoft will seemingly allow users to configure desired shortcuts to this assignable key, building upon its existing Game DVR from the Xbox One era.”

This feature will open a ton of new avenues for Xbox and will facilitate a lot of streamers/content creators. There is a lot of speculation around an Xbox Live event in August.

Xbox may have finally cracked the code with its games too as Grounded has managed to perform beyond expectations. Big things are planned for the console and hopefully, all of them will work in its favor.
