Cody Rhodes Spotted Backstage at NXT Deadline Helping a Rising Star

NXT Deadline ’23 is finally here after all the anticipation. WWE’s final PLE of the year 2023 will go down tonight. To make sure the developmental brand carries the event without problems, Cody Rhodes appeared in advance. Recent fan footage shows the main roster star talking to a rising star backstage.

Unofficially recorded footage shows The American Nightmare sitting backstage in a dashing suit. The wrestler is talking to none other than Trick Williams before the night arrives. The wrestler will be competing in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge with four other top male stars.

Cody Rhodes could possibly be giving him tips to come out on top when other wrestlers are also present in the same ring. Considering the Royal Rumble ’23 victory that Rhodes carries with him, his advice might come out to be helpful for Williams.

If Trick Williams ends up taking the win, he will be the #1 contender for the men’s NXT Championship against Ilja Dragunov. And for more of his future adventures, we could see Rhodes accompanying him, making their bond valuable.

This is not an odd sight for many Cody Rhodes fans because they know how he likes to help the stars in the developmental brand. Close to his 2023 return, Rhodes was paired with top NXT stars Carmelo Hayes and Joe Gacy. While the two stars were supposed to help him train for a comeback, he also ended up helping them out.

Not only Trick Williams but “The American Nightmare” helped out Carmelo Hayes with his wrestling skills too. A few months ago, Hayes featured in a podcast interview. While talking, he was asked about his experience working with Cody Rhodes before his ultimate return at Royal Rumble ’23. Not only did Hayes praise Rhodes’ dedication to training, but he revealed something much more special.

The former NXT Champion revealed that not only did he help Rhodes to make a comeback, but the 38-year-old also helped him in return by teaching him about things he didn’t already know. Hayes ended up learning about things that can only come out of experience.

So, we can assume that if Cody Rhodes is sharing some tips with Trick Williams, the latter seems to be in safe hands.
