CM Punk finally received the return of his favor from Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam 2024. The Seventh City Saint became the sole target of the 39-year-old Scottish star right after he started the latest WWE hurrah last year at Survivor Series. The heat escalated further, with both the stars getting the best out of each other in a lot of WWE programming. Punk was on the upper side by costing Mclntyre his dream title multiple times on TV until the SummerSlam hit him as a lesson.

However, where one brawl finishes off, one rises from the ashes. A word of war with the third element of the match, Seth Rollins unofficially locked the upcoming challenge for Punk.

The inevitable Seth Rollins vs CM Punk timeline revealed 

Despite the loss, Punk doesn’t seem to lower his ego, even one bit. Rather, he appeared on Raw in his usual mojo and said he was pleased to make it to the SummerSlam stage after returning to injury five months ahead of the stipulated time. There’s something in his voice. That was clearly spilling. That he’s still in search of blood and, most probably, Rollins’. But it begs the question of when and how the next big feud in the house pans out. Dave LaGreca had the answer.

LaGreca, in the latest edition of the Busted Open Radio, noted, ”If it’s going to be Punk and Seth, Bully, I think you would agree that most likely Seth would be the heel in that scenario. Do you think they’re going to wait for that until WrestleMania? Why would you do Punk and Seth any earlier than WrestleMania?

He continued, “You can have them- Listen, they double eliminate each other at the rumble, blah blah blah. Yes, that’s the match for Mania in my opinion. That is your true feud.”

However, for now, it will take some time for the visionary to get rid of the physical trauma he just underwent on the tragic SummerSlam night.

Rollins undergoes grueling treatment at the hospital 

Significantly, Rollins failed to live up to his attitude during the high-stake SummerSlam match. In a climax moment, he received a brutal Go-To-Sleep but somehow managed to give the three counts against Punk. When he came to obtain his claim on Punk, out of nowhere, Bronson Reed launched a vicious attack.

He hit the former world champion with six splashes from the top rope. The insane shot culminated in Rollins getting choked and coughing blood. The brutalized scene made the WWE Universe concerned. Adam Pearce notified the world that they needed to take the 38-year-old to the hospital immediately.

In a follow-up update, Pat McAfee and Michael Cole noted Rollins underwent a CAT scan, endoscopy, and X-rays. Right now, it is uncertain when the star will be back in his boots.
