Pickleball is America’s fastest-growing sport, with millions of players getting into it, right from 2021. And if it is that popular, it was just a matter of time before celebrities invested in it. There have been two new inductions of renowned sports personalities in the Major League Pickleball’s ownership group. One of them is Tampa Bay Buccaneers Quarterback, Tom Brady and the other is the retired Belgian tennis star, Kim Clijsters.

They both have invested in the sport because of their personal interest and due to the sport’s growing popularity.

Kim Clijsters would like to play pickleball with her business partner, Tom Brady

The two stars are part of the newest ownership group of Pickleball’s Major League, which is looking to expand now. They will buy an expansion team that will play in 2023. International Tennis Hall of Famer Kim Clijsters started playing pickleball after her retirement and plays with her business partners.

She is keen to play with Tom Brady too. She said, “We know that he loves to play pickleball and is very competitive.” Furthermore, she expressed her desire to test him, too. She said, “We can’t wait to get a game in and see where everybody’s levels at.”

Apart from that, the four-time Grand Slam champion also likes the sport because of its inclusivity where both men and women can play. She said, “For me, playing tennis with my husband and my kids is not that easy, right? But when I play pickleball we can all have a fun game.”

Other famous owners that are involved in pickleball are NBA champions LeBron James, Draymond Green, and Kevin Love, along with Super Bowl champ Drew Brees. The Buccaneers’ star quarterback was introduced to the sport four years ago and instantly developed a liking for it. Moreover, he plays the sport with his kids and finds the game as a good investment.

A new sport is on the rise. Currently, it has 4.8 million players in the US. The new ownership group is part of the growth plan, which is looking forward to expanding to 16 teams from 12 at the moment.
