Children are often tipped to follow in the footsteps of their parents. The case with Serena Williams’ daughter, Olympia, was no different. After Olympia’s birth, many believed that she would follow her mother’s path and try her hands at tennis. While Olympia did play the sport a few times, she hasn’t shown much interest in it. On the other hand, the latest glimpses show that she might be already moving away from it and pursuing a different sport.

Yesterday, Olympia’s father, Alexis Ohanian, took to his official Instagram handle and shared a clip of his daughter playing golf. The 7-year-old Olympia teed off like a pro and looked very comfortable while playing. With confidence beaming on her face, it looked as if she had been practicing golf for quite some time now, leaving tennis behind. Additionally, Olympia also struck a pose with her father after demonstrating the perfect golf swing.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time that Ohanian has shown off his daughter’s golfing skills. Earlier this year, he shared a post about Olympia hitting a bogey, which is one stroke over par for that particular hole. Moreover, Ohanian even admitted that Olympia was better than her in golf, saying, “Sunday Daddy Caddy. She’s better than me, but I’m catching up.”

Further, Olympia’s disinterest in tennis is no secret. During an interview once, Williams revealed that her daughter ‘doesn’t actually like to play tennis too much.’ Further, Williams also stated, “That’s a little disappointing for me, but she’s actually really good at it. So we are trying to figure out a way to get her to play a little bit.”

However, when it came to golf, Olympia has shown a keen interest in it. She can be seen playing the sport often and her father never shies away from showing off Olympia’s achievements in golf. Meanwhile, when it comes to playing professionally, Ohanian has a strong condition for it.

With Williams being one of the greatest athletes of all time, many believe that her daughter would also enter the sporting world. While tennis isn’t really Olympia’s forte, she could try her hand at golf. However, before that, a condition must be fulfilled for Olympia to pursue any sport professionally.

Talking about it, Ohanian once explained, “We were watching the final of the World Cup in 2019 from our rented house in Wimbledon. Olympia was running around in her Alex Morgan jersey, and I said, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if she played on a national team one day?’ And Serena was like, ‘Not until they pay her what she’s worth.’ And I was like, ‘Touché, okay, challenge accepted.’ And that’s what motivated me to buy a team and help be a part of the change.”
