Czech WTA star Petra Kvitová, who stunned the whole tennis world with a massive victory at the Miami Open last year, will not be gracing the court this time for a special reason. The WTA star, who is married to her long-time coach Jiri Vanek, is expecting her first child!

Kvitová, who recently announced her pregnancy on social media, will be missing out on defending her title as she prepares for the arrival of her first baby. In a surprising message shared on New Year’s Day, Kvitová expressed her excitement, saying, “On the first day of 2024, I wanted to wish you a happy new year and share the exciting news that Jiri and I will be welcoming a baby into our family this summer.”
This delightful news marked the beginning of a new chapter in the two-time grand slam winner’s life, prioritizing her role as a soon-to-be mom over professional tennis opportunities. Kvitová happily announced a pause in her tennis career
