Maria Sharapova may be best known for winning Wimbledon at 17, securing an Olympic medal, and earning a place in the Tennis Hall of Fame. But beyond her accomplishments on the court, the Russian star has also made a name for herself in fashion. Whether it was her Swarovski-adorned black dress at the US Open or her unique tuxedo-and-shorts ensemble at Wimbledon, she always made a fashion statement on the court. And even in retirement, Sharapova continues to turn heads with her style. Even though Paris Fashion Week is over, the former World Number 1 continues to dazzle in France.
Recently Moncler Grenoble hosted a fashion show in the French Alps, drawing big names like Anne Hathaway, Adrien Brody, and Jessica Chastain. The event, held in Courchevel on March 15, 2025, showcased the brand’s Fall/Winter collection in a dreamy, snow-covered atmosphere. Sharapova, who also attended the event, took to Instagram to share her experience.
“It was so much more than a show. It was living through a childhood dream of experiencing a winter wonderland inside a snow globe. Pure joy, witnessed through the lense of @moncler and @remoruffini extraordinary vision. Thank you for this masterpiece. You continue to set the bar high! The finale of the show was this song, performed by a live orchestra. Also, guess who made a special appearance in the end 😉,” the Russian wrote.

Moncler, known for its luxurious and high-performance outerwear, found the perfect setting for its Grenoble collection, highlighting winter sportswear and adventure gear. With Courchevel’s picturesque slopes and alpine heritage, the backdrop elevated the entire experience.
Sharapova, a longtime Moncler ambassador, took her connection with the brand to the next level when she joined its board of directors in 2022. While the American actress Anne Hathaway effortlessly blends Moncler pieces into her red carpet and streetwear looks, Sharapova has taken an even deeper role in the brand’s evolution. During the event, the two stars also made time for a fashionable photo-op. Standing in front of the snowy landscape, they posed in stylish winter wear, capturing the elegance and charm of the moment.
But the 37-year-old Sharapova didn’t just sit back and watch the runway unfold—she got in on the winter action. Arriving early, she decided to try walking in snowshoes. Sharing a video on Instagram, she was seen carefully navigating the snow with the help of walking sticks. However, the clip ended with her seated on the slope, clearly after taking a tumble. Taking it in stride, she captioned the video, “It wasn’t the athletic landing I was anticipating, watch until the end 😂 @moncler.”

It dates back to the 2010 Australian Open. In the first round, Sharapova faced fellow Russian Maria Kirilenko while wearing a Nike-designed dress featuring a bold peacock motif. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned for the former World No. 1. She lost a tight battle, falling 7-6, 3-6, 6-4. Reflecting on that match, she admitted, “In hindsight, there was too much going on with this one. And I lost. Double Whammy.”
