Serena Williams has never been one to hit pause. After conquering tennis with 23 Grand Slam titles, the tennis icon has pivoted powerfully into entrepreneurship with Wyn Beauty, a brand that champions confidence at every stage of life. Celebrating the brand’s first anniversary on April 4, Serena reflected on her vision: “In the future, I see Wyn not just as a beauty brand, but as a platform for all people to feel confident and beautiful in their own skin — no matter what stage of life they’re in,” she told WWD. With her signature drive, Serena continues to promote the brand, and when she talks business, it’s nothing short of inspiring!
Wyn Beauty, which was launched in April 2024, marked its first anniversary with a vibrant two-day pop-up event in Los Angeles. For Serena Williams, it was more than a celebration, it was the realization of a dream that was years in the making. In a chat with Shopify, she shared that the thought of something like this struck her at Wimbledon a few years ago, while she was getting ready in the locker room.
“The moment I knew I wanted to start WYN was when I was in the locker room at Wimbledon, and I was putting sun cream in my hand, and then I was putting foundation, and I was mixing it together to make my own skin tint. And I thought, ‘I need to have something in my color. Also need to have this product. Is there a way I could use this while I’m playing or while I’m just using it all 24 hours throughout the day?” she said.

More than a week after that celebratory event in LA, Serena lit up IG with a carousel of vibrant photos. Radiating joy and confidence, the former No. 1 struck a fierce pose beside the brand’s signature light green bus, capturing the spirit of celebration. Her smile said it all – it signified pure pride and happiness for how far WYN had come.
Serena dropped a playful quote alongside the photos: “This weekend we stepped out to celebrate the one year anniversary of @wyn. Grateful for every moment, every face, every win.. Thanks for riding with us—it’s just the beginning 💋.”

Serena Williams ideated Wyn Beauty in 2017, the same year she was pregnant with her daughter, Olympia. “That’s when I knew it didn’t exist, and I needed to create something new. We’ve been doing this for over seven years. This is our one-year anniversary,” she remarked.
In partnership with The Good Glamm Group, WYN now boasts 91 shades across 10 high-performance products, aiming to celebrate all skin tones. “Lots of dedication, lots of tears and lots of happiness,” Serena shared. “In business, I feel like you know you’ve won just by the fact that people really love and enjoy it, but also the impact that you’re making in different people’s lives,”

Serena Williams’ all set to executive-produce Netflix adaptation of iconic novel
When Serena Williams retired from tennis in September 2022, many assumed she’d take a step back from the spotlight. But the 23-time GS champion had other plans, and they were brighter than ever. In April 2023, she launched her own multimedia company, 926 Productions, following the success of King Richard, the Oscar-winning film chronicling her and sister Venus’ rise to tennis greatness. Now, Serena is stepping into a new role: executive producer, for a Netflix adaptation of the bestselling novel Carrie Soto Is Back.
The series, based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s 2022 hit novel, follows Carrie Soto, a legendary tennis champion who returns to the court six years after retiring, determined to protect her Slam record from a new rising star, Nicki Chan. The screenplay has been written and executive produced by Amanda Kate Shuman, with Serena Williams joining the project through 926 Productions, adding authenticity and star power to the tennis-themed drama.
What’s even more exciting? Serena was the muse behind Carrie Soto. In a 2022 interview with Goodreads, Reid confirmed that Serena’s legacy, resilience, and dominance deeply inspired the character on the court. “I wouldn’t write a book about tennis without the influence of just the absolute glory that has been their journey, but also specifically Serena’s quest to get as many Grand Slam titles as she has managed to do,” Reid said.
