Ayan Broomfield’s style journey is a whirlwind of tennis-inspired fashion. From Wimbledon’s chic belts to a Flushing Meadows scarf-turned-tube-top, her looks consistently turn heads. Even during Frances Tiafoe’s Mexico Open run, she made waves with a stunning Aspen getaway, showcasing a ‘furry brown overcoat’ and matching ‘knee-high boots,’ followed by a chic ‘all-black’ shopping ensemble. Two months ago, her fiery red Victoria’s Secret look set the internet ablaze. Now, she’s once again dazzled at a WTA event, unveiling an ensemble that pays homage to Naomi Osaka’s iconic US Open style—bow details and all. But in a different version!

WTA recently hosted a gala event in LA, attended by several prominent women stars, including Taylor Townsend, and even the top seed Aryna Sabalenka. Broomfield graced the WTA “Rally the World” event, an initiative dedicated to empowering WTA stars and supporting global communities through advocacy and action, in an elegant all-black outfit.

Following the event, the WTA shared a series of photos on its IG page, captioned “A night celebrating a new era 💚 #WTARallyTheWorld.” After the event, Broomfield re-shared two pictures in her IG story.

In one, she referenced Naomi Osaka’s iconic ‘black-and-white’ US Open outfit, captioning it “Pulled inspo from this iconic @naomiosaka x @yoon_ambush collab 🎀” while in the other, she showcased the dress she wore to the gala. But which of Osaka’s US Open outfits was she referring to though?

Last year, the former No. 1 Naomi Osaka turned the US Open court onto her runway. The 26-year-old tennis star debuted a striking ‘black version’ of her outfit during her match against ‘Karolina Muchova’ on August 29 in New York. The Japanese ensemble featured a bomber jacket with a ‘colored ribbon’ on the back, a tennis dress with a matching bow, and a tiered ruffle skirt with her. A white band separated the top from the skirt, and she completed the famous Nike look with sneakers accented by a bow. Though Muchová triumphed 6-3, 7-6 (5), ending Osaka’s bid for a third US Open title, her fashion statement left a lasting impression among the fans.

Returning to the American, while Ayan Broomfield is making waves in the fashion world with her recent WTA event appearance, she is also setting her sights back on the 27-foot tennis court. Among the WTA stars, she is working towards a potential comeback in the center court while opening up about the biggest risk she has ever taken in her life.

“I’m going to try…” Broomfield on her potential return to court

Broomfield, the ‘2019 NCAA Doubles champion’, turned pro in 2015 and reached a career-best doubles ranking of 467 the same year. The Canadian previously partnered with Athleta and Wilson and continues to collaborate with these brands, thanks to her strong social media presence. However, on February 28, Broomfield shared glimpses of her fitness routine on IG stories, starting with a mirror selfie showcasing her rackets’ butt caps engraved with her initial, “B”. captioned, “Off to the courtssss.”

She later posted a snap of a podcast she was listening to in her car, adding, “I was listening to this Mel Robbins podcast and she was explaining that we should be taking the biggest risks of our lives right now and I think she is absolutely right. I’m going to try some new things this year.”

She then flaunted her stylish tennis attire, featuring a ‘Marc Jacobs tote’, ‘pink-grip Wilson rackets’, and an ‘all-white’ sipper with ‘Big Foe’: her boyfriend’s namesake printed on it.
