Ashleigh Barty’s best friend hails Qinwen Zheng ahead of the Australian Open finals
Back in 2022, the young Chinese tennis sensation’s breakthrough on the women’s tour earned her the Newcomer of the Year award. While lauding her remarkable accolade, the Australian former tennis player Casey Dellacqua recently asserted that Qinwen Zheng’s recent success has been ‘pretty massive’ for the Grand Slam event taking place in Melbourne.

As reported by Nine, the 38-year-old tennis veteran said, “Getting to know a new face on the tour, she was obviously the Newcomer of the Year (in 2022) but I think for the general public and Australia, particularly for the Asia-Pacific region to get someone like her through the tournament has been pretty massive for the tournament.”
Dellacqua went on to open up about how billions of fans will be watching her compete for the Australian Open title against the defending champion. The Aussie stated, “And I know there’s going to be billions and billions of eyes on that final tonight.”
