Bouchard’s interest in pickleball aligns with the growing trend of tennis stars exploring alternative racket sports. This trend was further exemplified by 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal, who recently expressed his fondness for the sport. Bouchard is not the only one who is taking a switch to the game. Recently, Jack Sock, the American tennis sensation, has decided to retire from tennis and go all-in with pickleball.

The CEO of the Pickleball Professional Association, Connor Pardoe, believes that Jack Sock could become one of the top pickleball players if he focuses on it. He stated, “If Jack [Sock] devotes himself to pickleball all the time, I think he will be a Top-5 player within 12 months.” Sock has been contemplating this transition for a while, participating in pickleball events during his tennis breaks.

Sock, however, sees this transition as an opportunity to bridge the gap between tennis and pickleball, encouraging players to enjoy both sports. He emphasizes that there’s room for coexistence, stating, “There’s no reason for either sport to rip on the other.”
