Essentials Inside The Story

  • After bringing Tom Cruise, Pat McAfee, and many others into her private suite at Arrowhead Stadium, Taylor Swift returned with Caitlin Clark.
  • Swift has attended all home games for the Kansas City Chiefs this year, even if it was tough on her schedule like this time.
  • Clark attended the game not only for her favorite team but also for Nike's plan.

If you have followed Caitlin Clark long enough, you’d know that her favorite NFL team as an Iowan is the Kansas City Chiefs. While attending their games wouldn’t be a luxury for her, she received an invitation to their game last January, which would’ve made her go, “What?!” Because, another fun fact, again, if you’ve followed her long enough, she is a downright Swiftie. And last year, before they eventually lost the Super Bowl, Taylor Swift invited Clark to join her as the Chiefs took on the Houston Texans in their AFC Divisional clash. Needless to say, the two lucky charms meant a 16-2 win for the Chiefs.

Fast forward to now, as KC tries to rebound back to its dynasty standards after a disappointing 2025 season, the two good luck charms returned to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday afternoon to amp up the excitement. While doing that, they also attracted attention from the WNBA itself.

“Hey Caitlin 👋👋,” the WNBA sent a two-word public message to Clark while resharing a post by Complex magazine.

As Clark arrived, Swift welcomed her to her private suite in Arrowhead Stadium with a hug. Clark was also joined by her boyfriend Connor McCaffery for their Week 6 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Musician Este Haim, Young Man and the Three podcast host Tommy Alter, and mother-in-law Donna also joined the 14-time Grammy winner. Interestingly, the WNBA’s shout-out to their star performer also grabbed enough negative spotlight. However, Clark wasn’t there solely to support her friend.

Ahead of the 3:25 p.m. CT game, Clark and Nike had set up a special display for her new Caitlin 1 signature shoe inside the New Heights Tailgate at Arrowhead Stadium.

The tailgate, running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Lot M at the Truman Sports Complex, was promoting the New Heights podcast, hosted by the Chiefs’ tight end and Swift’s husband, Travis Kelce, and his brother and a Philadelphia Eagles legend, Jason Kelce. In addition to the display featuring Clark’s shoe, attendees also had the opportunity to meet Jason during a meet-and-greet.

Meanwhile, Swift has attended all of their home games this season, an interesting fact in its own right, considering she was busy performing at the Academy Music Gala in Los Angeles the night before. But this year seems a little different for the singer, making her friendship with Clark perfect.

Caitlin Clark’s reaction to attending Chiefs games with Taylor Swift and how their friendship simply makes sense

A few years ago, as someone who did not grow up watching America’s favorite pastime, Swift barely knew anything about the sport. Over the years, the now Mrs. Kelce has educated herself on the inside-out knowledge of the game. So, this year, her mission has been not to understand what’s going on on the field but to simply enjoy everything that her husband does in what could be his final NFL season. Clark fits right in.

As a competitor who grew up watching KC, the Indiana Fever point guard celebrates the success of the team. And she said it herself, sharing what that feeling with Swift has been like:

“It’s just cute to see how excited she is for the Chiefs,” Clark told David Eickholt of 247Sports in late January 2025. “And getting to share that with her, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I love this!’ She loves the Chiefs as much as me.”

Since that January 18, 2025, game, the two have attended many KC games together, making headlines every time.

Following Clark’s appearance at Swift’s Eras Tour in Indianapolis in 2024, the two also attended a KC game in October 2025 during a regular-season game against the Detroit Lions, which marked the popstar’s first Chiefs game attended since she got engaged to Kelce.

During the most recent appearance by Clark, the Chiefs continued their winning ways, beating the Chargers 22-6 to lead the league 5-0. The game, at one point, also gave Swift and the Chiefs fans an injury scare when Kelce briefly exited the matchup before returning to the field.

Regardless, Clark’s crossover appeal has drawn attention beyond basketball, and another Arrowhead appearance next to Swift has quickly made the WNBA part of a Chiefs Monday conversation.
