Amid the ongoing tensions, the league’s calendar has finally taken a step forward! While the WNBA and the WNBPA continue to negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement, after reaching a 30-day extension on October 31, the Cathy Engelbert-led front office has recently announced the 2026 Draft Lottery odds.

Leading the pack to have the best odds of getting the No. 1 pick is the Dallas Wings (42.0%). Followed by the Minnesota Lynx, Seattle Storm, Washington Mystics, and the Chicago Sky. With a 19-win and a 65-loss record across the 2024 and 2025 seasons, the Wings hold 420 out of 1,000 chances to claim the top spot, guaranteeing them no worse than the third overall pick, if they can’t secure the top spot.

The Wings also got the No.1 pick for 2025 and secured Paige Bueckers. However, the franchise still had the worst season, finishing in last place. With 10 Wings players hitting free agency, no one else needs this pick more. But with a new coach and possible first pick, the team will be looking to make a comeback next season.

Holding the Chicago Sky’s first-round pick, thanks to a prior trade between the two franchises, the Minnesota Lynx are next in line with the second-best odds (26.1%) and a 23–61 record. Right behind them, the Seattle Storm is in the mix with 16.7% odds, owning the Los Angeles Sparks’ first-round pick because of a trade that took place in January 2024.

The Washington Mystics come next on the list, with 9.7% odds after posting a 30–54 record. Rounding out the field, the Chicago Sky, armed with the Connecticut Sun’s first-round pick, has a 5.5% chance to land the top spot.

However, unlike in the past, the 2026 draft class doesn’t have a clear-cut No. 1 prospect. While UCLA center Lauren Betts is expected to be a strong contender for the top spot, joined by TCU guard Olivia Miles, UConn’s Azzi Fudd, and Valencia Basket’s Awa Fam, the coming picks could be even more unpredictable.

A look inside the 2026 Draft class top prospects

With Betts considered a strong player and the Wings having the best odds for the No.1 pick, she might be the franchise’s top choice. The 6-foot-7 senior center thrives in the low post, averaging 20.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks while shooting nearly 65% from the field. But while her size and efficiency in the paint make her a serious threat, her inability to make 3’s in the modern WNBA can be a major drawback.

Then there’s Azzi Fudd, the UConn sharpshooter who is currently averaging 20 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists per game in the 2025-26 NCAA season. After years of battling injuries, Fudd finally had a healthy campaign last year, where she played 34-out-of-40 games, ultimately leading the Huskies to their 12th championship title.

Next up is Olivia Miles, the 5-foot-10 point guard, who made her debut at Notre Dame and quickly became one of the most exciting playmakers in college basketball. After three strong seasons with the Irish, a knee injury sidelined her in 2023–24, but she returned stronger than ever, transferring to TCU for her final year of eligibility. Averaging 15.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.8 assists last season, Miles has reestablished herself as the top point guard prospect in the 2026 class. But which team lands which player will ultimately depend on the position each franchise is looking to strengthen.
