Tipesa Gray is Chelsea Gray’s wife and a former college basketball player. According to Outsports, Tipesa is a California native who played forward for the women’s basketball team at California State University, Long Beach.
One of our earlier reports also says that she attended Narbonne High School, where she earned All-City First Team recognition from the Los Angeles Times and All-Marine League honors.
Tipesa graduated from Long Beach State in 2012 with a degree in communications and a minor in marketing. She later earned a master’s degree in sports management in 2015. During her senior college season, she was the team’s leading scorer, averaging 12.7 points per game, and earned second-team All-Big West honors.

Chelsea Gray and Tipesa’s relationship began as a friendship in 2013. At the time, Tipesa was involved with the Long Beach State basketball program while Chelsea was playing college basketball at Duke.
Their friendship became particularly meaningful when Chelsea suffered a serious knee injury before the 2014 WNBA Draft. Chelsea Gray and Tipesa announced their engagement on June 27, 2018. They subsequently married on November 2, 2019, at the Bel Air Bay Club in Los Angeles.
Their wedding brought together several notable figures from the basketball world. Among the guests were Gray’s Los Angeles Sparks teammate Candace Parker, former Sparks player Ify Ibekwe, and Chicago Sky player Jantel Lavender, as per Out Sports.
What Does Tipesa Gray Do for a Living?
Tipesa’s professional background is closely tied to basketball. After playing four seasons at Long Beach State, she continued working within the program and became part of its coaching and operations structure.
We have previously reported that she served as Director of Operations for the women’s basketball program and had joined the staff in the 2013-14 season.
She also worked with the School of Skills, a basketball camp in Manhattan Beach, and officiated high school games through the California Basketball Officials Association.
Her connection to basketball continued after her playing career. She joined the Long Beach State women’s basketball program as a staff member, including work as its director of operations.
