During her 15-year career, the guard won 2 WNBL titles with two different teams and the NBL 1 Central Championship. At the national level, Alex was called in for the 3×3 Squad. She represented Team Australia in the format at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Winning four out of five games, Willson’s team finished third and claimed a bronze medal. Her participation earned her a unique record of becoming the first Indigenous Australian to compete for Australia in basketball at the Commonwealth Games. Playing for the country, Alex delivered 13 points, 2.2 assists, and 5.2 rebounds on average.

Alex even played in the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup in 2024 and 2025, winning the gold medal on both occasions. In 2025, Wilson scored 34 points in the final against Japan.
