Angel Reese knows her fashion game, doesn’t she? Well, when you have grown up styling pieces from your mom’s closet, that’s a given. But we aren’t just gushing over her off-court looks or even the tunnel walk. It’s her footwear, which she seems to use as her personal megaphone every time she’s up to something big. Remember her first-ever custom kicks in the Unrivaled league? The pair, created in collaboration with Chicago artist Marvin Baroota, featured delicate rose motifs sculpted on the shoes, which paid homage to her team.

And that’s how Reese, one of just ten players to commit to the 3 by 3 league, made her grand entrance. So, while months have passed since then, Chi-Town Barbie isn’t slowing down. Now, as she heads into her second All-Star appearance, this time as a reserve, she’s making another iconic move in her own unique way!

Chi-town Barbie unleashes her pink power!

Before even stepping foot into Gainbridge Fieldhouse to play for Team Collier in a historic All-Star Game (the first ever to break away from the East vs. West format), Reese made headlines by unveiling her signature shoe, the Reebok Angel Reese 1 in the ‘Mebounds’ pink colorway. And yes, she made it unforgettable by reclaiming Mebounds—a term that once mocked her.

Yes, it’s the same term once used to criticize Angel Reese for inflating her rebound total by grabbing her own misses near the basket. But Chi-Town Barbie wasn’t about to be bullied. Instead, she filed a trademark for the term just last month. And ever since, she’s been making dollars off the very insult. Epic, right?

At first, she launched a full line of Mebounds merchandise, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting her foundation that fights cyberbullying. And now, she’s lacing up in her latest signature sneaker, debuted in bold pink. Very Chi-Town Barbie-esque.

Is Angel Reese's 'Mebounds' move the most empowering response to haters we've seen in sports?

Have an interesting take?

While a vibrant pink dominates from the toe to the heel, specks of dusty rose travel up the laces, tongue, and around the shoe’s opening. The lighter tone also seeps through the crevices on the sides, adding that flair.

Well, Reese herself put it best, saying, “I’ve built a thicker skin,” and these kicks reflect that resilience. I mean, why not? Averaging a league-high 12.6 rebounds per game with record-breaking double-doubles, this shoe isn’t just about fashion, it’s a badge of honor for her.

But this isn’t her only drop this month as earlier she teased fans with the “Diamond Dust” colorway, a nod to her journey and roots. “Diamond Dust. Just a kid from Baltimore, turning dreams into reality and hoping I can inspire young women and men everywhere to do the same… The most brilliant diamonds take pressure, polish, and time. Reebok is back — and the diamonds are shining brighter than ever,” she shared back then.

But, while she modeled the Diamond Dust shoes in full glam, metallic silver bralette, bamboo hoop earrings, and a sparkling “R” pendant, for the Mebounds reveal, she let the kicks shine on the court as she grabbed boards and dropped buckets in Gainbridge Arena. But is it just about the shoes? Not really!

For Angel Reese, it’s a way to respond to critics.

When the viral “Mebounds” phrase, originally coined by Bishop B. Hen, made waves online, Reese responded with her signature flair on TikTok: “Whoever came up with the ‘mebounds’ thing, y’all ate that up. Because mebounds, crebounds, keybounds, tebounds… anything that comes off the board, it’s mine. Whoever came up with that, the trolling, I love when y’all do it, because the ideas be good,” she said.

Well, that same energy carried over to her All-Star shoe reveal, with Reebok dropping a cheeky caption: “Angel Reese 1 Mebounds. All mine. Not yours (yet).” Strategic? Absolutely. It’s because the shoes won’t hit retail until 2026—so, for now, it really is all hers. And she knew it already so she came up on x and even joined the fun by writing, “Literally MINE,” and later adding with a wink emoji, “Not yours (yet).”

So you know, she’s one of only five active WNBA players with a signature shoe deal—alongside Caitlin Clark, Sabrina Ionescu, A’ja Wilson, and Breanna Stewart—but when it comes to creativity, flair, and flipping the narrative, Angel Reese is in a league of her own.
