The Indiana Fever have really lucked out over the last two years. We all know how the women’s game has undergone a meteoric rise in popularity and viewership after last year’s draft class, and the role that Caitlin Clark played in it. However, even before Clark, they drafted a young forward from South Carolina who changed their fortunes–Aliyah Boston. The six-foot-five Gamecock gave new life to Indianapolis, and the numbers reflect it!
Aliyah Boston is currently averaging 14.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists a game over her career so far. Not to mention, she won Rookie of the Year in 2023, and has been playing at an all-star level since day one. It looks like Kelly Krauskopf and Amber Cox are keeping Boston in their future plans with a contract extension. But what are the details? Let’s find out!

What are Aliyah Boston’s contract details?
With how amazing Aliyah Boston has been for the Indiana Fever, it makes sense to keep her around! Luckily, the Indiana Fever understood the assignment, and picked up the fourth-year team option on Boston’s rookie contract. This keeps her contracted through the 2025 season, after which she will become a restricted free-agent. So, the team is truly making an effort to keep the six-foot-five forward around!
Her rookie contract spanned over three years, and was worth $233,468, but this fourth year raises it significantly. The team option guarantees Aliyah Boston $94,470, and has increased the total contract value to $328,118 over a four year period.
Why did the Fever extend her contract?
To put it simply, it makes sense for the Indiana Fever to keep Aliyah Boston for as long as possible. She has been simply phenomenal during her two years with the organization, and she’s not even at her peak yet! Boston showed glimpses of further potential during the 2024 postseason, boasting impressive averages of 16.5 points, 15 rebounds, and 2 blocks a game.
Not to mention, she has made the All-Star team during both the years she has been in the league. Her efficient shooting percentages were the talk of the town in her rookie year, and Boston has been steadily improving ever since.

What other roster moves have the Fever made to support Boston and improve in 2025?
As we mentioned before, Aliyah Boston, Caitlin Clark, and Kelsey Mitchell are part of the Indiana Fever’s core. The organization has been building around the three of them in this off-season, and in the WNBA draft as well. Since Stephanie White’s addition as head coach, the Fever is looking to speed up their offensive strategies and run the floor hard.
Not only that, they were severely lacking in defense and post play this past season, with only Boston holding down the fort. So obviously, they made some big changes. Amber Cox and Kelly Krauskopf brought in important veteran presences in DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard, and Sydney Colson. These players bring essential championship experience to the developing Indiana Fever team.

However, the draft also turned out relatively well for them. For the first time in quite a few years, the Fever did not have a top pick. They ended up drafting some size with Makayla Timpson, and Yvonne Ejim, while also getting some perimeter play through Bree Hall.
It looks like the Indiana Fever is ready for a title run this year, and we can’t wait to see it! With Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston leading the pack, the WNBA needs to stay on alert for the new-look Fever.
