Caitlin Clark’s salary is finally set to match her league-altering impact, but a historic new CBA deal still isn’t enough to satisfy WNBA fans.

According to reports, Clark’s salary will be around $530,000, much higher than the minimal $78,000 that she was earning last season. Her salary can also increase to a staggering $1.7M in 2028, after her current rookie contract runs through 2027.

This massive jump is a result of a new CBA provision, EPIC that is slated to fast-track the salaries of the players with rookie contracts and exceptional performance in the initial years of their contract. And Clark, of course, is one of them, considering her notable performances that saw her win WNBA Rookie of the Year and an All-WNBA First team player.

But along with these performances comes the hefty business and revenue that underscore Clark’s further impact on the league. And, owing to this single element, fans aren’t quite satisfied yet with the remuneration CC will receive from the league this season.

Caitin Clark’s impact on the WNBA doesn’t need any validation at the moment. It is a proven fact that Clark is the single most contributor in driving WNBA’s popularity to the masses that were untapped by the league before her. Increase in ticket sales, broadcasting viewership, and merchandise sales, all of them trends echoes the same statement: the CC effect is real and has a prolonged shelf life.

In fact in her debut season, CC alone was responsible for 26% of the league’s financial activity. In such a circumstance, it isn’t surprising that with the new CBA in place, Clark will be one of the most benefitted athletes from these negotiations. But it’s just the dynamics of the league and as reported in a couple of seasons, her salary will grow more than the much talked about $1M mark and can even grow more than $2M as the deal reaches its concluding stages in 2032.

“There isn’t a WNBA player who deserves the pay jump more than CC. Aja is second but there’s a solid gap based on contribution to the leagues popularity,” stated another. 

“She should be the highest-paid player in the league,” chimed in another. 

It’s a popular perspective among the fans that she should get the maximum salary possible for the businesses she brings to the league, along with her peers like A’ja Wilson. But there’s a limitation to it for now. CC is still under a rookie contract, even though her salary is quantified with EPIC, this rookie contract will run through the 2027 season. Only after that she can sign another contract and can earn the supermax figure of $1.7M in 2028.

“$1.7 million is pocket change for Caitlin, with all of the endorsements that she has. Hopefully she will let the Fever spread that money around to her teammates instead,” summed up another. 

As per Forbes’, Caitlin Clark’s current net worth is more than $12M in 2025. Thus statistically, the WNBA earnings do make just a small percent of this large chunk. And with the positive trends around her fandom, that $12M figure will just increase in the years to come with more endorsements and off-court endeavors. It suggests that CC doesn’t have to rely at all on her WNBA earnings.

But it’s not about whether she’s dependent on this amount or not, rather it’s that she deserves this amount for her hard work towards the league. And with the terms of a new CBA, her team Indiana Fever also shouldn’t have an issue with giving her this rightful share, given the salary cap of the teams have also increased to $7M from the $1.5M last year.

All in all, the new CBA has finally been able to give players like Clark their deserved flowers. Furthermore, with the decision possibly at the near-perfect time, the WNBA also will be in full-force from May, and the fans will finally be able to see Clark hoop in an Indiana Fever jersey after suiting up for just 13 times last season due to an injury.
