The Indiana Fever made light work of the A’ja Wilson-less defending champions without Caitlin Clark. After a fairly even first half, the Fever found their groove in the third and ran away with the game. Despite the win, not everybody had the best day, as Tyasha Harris had just four points while going 0-4 from the field. It led to some sharp criticism on social media, which was followed by an even sharper answer that gave fans a peek into the locker room atmosphere of the Fever.

“Y’all be praying on people downfalls … y’all ain’t got to put down others to support y’all fav,🙃” Harris wrote in response to a now-deleted tweet. “Had a bad shooting night for sure, but we got the dub, and what does that helps our team as a whole and whoever is your fav! We all trynna help in any way we can.”
Harris is pointing out the individualistic approach of some of the Indiana Fever fanbase. However, while the fan had deleted their previous tweet on Harris, they commented back, apologizing.
“My bad, Ty! The first part was a bad attempt at sarcasm. I actually thought you played well, had a solid game & did exactly what the Fever needed you to do. It was my terrible attempt to say you had a good game even if the stat sheet wasn’t flashy. I just deleted the post since I obviously gave the wrong impression. Sorry about that. 😬,” the same fan wrote.
Some of the Fever supporters are really fans of just Caitlin Clark rather than the team, which is a widely observed dynamic.

“Hey, Ty. You gotta get offline. Very unprofessional to be fighting with fans on X. ‘Support y’all fav'[.] Also, making statements like this is TOXIC for team cohesion. Making it sound like you have resentment for CC and feeding into online narratives. Try to have less thin skin,” an X user replied to her.
It is a natural progression for the team and the league as they evolve with their newfound popularity. Harris took matters into her own hands in this case.
Recently, there has been more noise around the Indiana Fever than they have played basketball in. Clark herself said she’s been hurt by all of the narratives created online and in the media about her and her Fever teammates. However, Tyasha Harris was burying the myths against herself and Caitlin Clark. All while emphasizing that it is all peaceful in the locker room.
“My point. Made-up narratives and I’m having conversations like everybody else do on Twitter. Our team is good in the locker room,” Harris wrote. “TRUST ME. Reread my tweet so you can fully comprehend nobody is holding resentment; we’re all trynna help in anyway shape or form.”
She is a six-year veteran who has played across the league during that time. As a backup point guard with the Fever, she needs to step up. Harris showed some positive signs when she scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds against the Sparks. Now, Caitlin Clark has hinted at a possible return during the upcoming back-to-back, which means she could retreat to the bench. But Harris must remain ready as the Fever continue to manage Clark’s injury.
