“I’m trying to watch my language,” Bueckers said on the AARI & RACHEL UNFILTERED PODCAST. “I’m trying to stop saying naughty words… No, not yet. But I’m going to work on it tomorrow.”

Surprisingly, Bueckers hasn’t been caught on camera cursing very often. Yes, she has been in heated moments before, like while facing the Indiana Fever last season, when Sophie Cunningham wouldn’t leave her alone. It was a really tough contest for the Wings star, but she held her cool.

Given the high-pressure situations Bueckers faces on the court, it’s understandable she’s trying to clean up her language. She averaged 19.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game in her rookie season, but the Wings struggled and finished with a joint-worst 10-34 record.

When defenders are right in front of you, and the game is on the line, a few “naughty words” may come out. Many players would call it being themselves. Alongside developing her game, Bueckers also stays in touch with trends off the court on TikTok.

Bueckers has had other honest moments recently besides revealing her New Year’s resolution. The Wings star was asked to choose between Miami and Dallas in a rapid-fire round. She smiled and picked her WNBA home.

“Free agents, Dallas is the place to be,” Bueckers immediately said.

The pitch showcased she was serious about building the Wings’ future by using her platform to attract talent while competing in Unrivaled’s second season in Miami.

Bueckers’ numbers at Breeze BC are insane: 18.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game. She has made all eight of her free throws, which puts her in line to win a $50,000 bonus. She almost recorded a triple-double against Rose BC, with 15 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds, but her team lost, making them 2-1 this season.

Getting free agents to come to Dallas extends beyond Bueckers’ recruiting alone. The Wings are having trouble with their facilities, which makes this pitch a lot harder. Their top pick last season became Rookie of the Year, but its infrastructure tells a different story about where it stands in the league right now.

The bad news came this week when Wings CEO Greg Bibb told The Dallas Morning News that their $48.6 million training facility, originally slated for spring 2026, is now expected to open in spring 2027.

“Obviously, I’m disappointed that we’re not getting ready to move into two facilities that we thought we were going to be moving into when we signed the agreement,” Bibb explained. “But I do believe in the city and its leadership.”

The timeline keeps getting worse. Memorial Auditorium downtown was supposed to host games this year, but it won’t be ready until 2027, according to reports from May 2025. The plans for both construction projects called for completion by 2025.

The Wings play at College Park Center in Arlington right now. This arena can hold 6,251 fans, while other WNBA arenas can hold 18,000 or more…

From a player signing perspective, free agency is still on hold until a new CBA is in place.
