Angel Reese was an immediate hit in the WNBA. The LSU alum joined the league, being drafted seventh overall by the Chicago Sky. She was fresh off a national championship in college, and her confidence was high. Without a doubt, Reese delivered on the hype that was built around her. The six-three forward won the rebounding title and made an All-Star appearance in her rookie season.

With all of that success came a lot of fame, and a lot of endorsements. Even without her WNBA salary, Angel Reese was earning enough to fulfill one of her lifelong dreams—to pay off her mother’s mortgage. The Chicago Sky star surprised her mother during an episode of Unapologetically Angel, telling her that she could retire whenever she wanted. Though her heartwarming actions drew a lot of praise, they created an issue for a certain reporter.

On The Elle Duncan Show, show host Elle Duncan talked about how Angel Reese got her in trouble. “The reason that she got me in trouble is that my parents are amazing parents who have always supported everything that I have done, this crazy dream that I’ve had since I was a little kid. They’re the best parents,” Duncan said while smiling, before going into her problem. “But I would be lying if I didn’t say there’s probably a little guy in their head that’s like ‘Also one day, Elle’s going to be able to do this very same for us.’”

Apparently, Duncan’s mother had been dropping her the ‘subtlest’ of hints for a while. “My mom has dropped hints for twenty years that she’d love a condo in Hawaii. Wouldn’t we all, Mom?” Nothing that was too detectable.

She speculated, and laughed, about her mom’s reaction to the Angel Reese news, and the nagging she was destined for afterward. “I know my mom’s like, ‘Elle is almost 42 years old, and she has yet to retire us. Meanwhile, Angel Reese has been around for just a few years, and she already retired her mom. Wouldn’t that be lovely and nice? If we could also, us two parents, who have also been tasked with helping raise her children, if we could just get a quaint little condo in Hawaii for a couple millie?’

All jokes aside, what Angel Reese has managed to accomplish in such a short time is truly magnificent!

The 22-year-old has been making waves both on and off the court. To retire your parents is a big deal, and to do it so young is an even bigger one. Her best advertisement is her performance on the court. But how is the Reebok athlete faring in the inaugural Unrivaled season?

Rose BC vs Phantom BC, how did Angel Reese perform?

The Rose BC, led by Chelsea Gray, has not had a great start to Unrivaled. They have lost four out of five games so far, but Angel Reese has definitely stood out for her club. In the last couple of games, Reese has been consistent on both ends of the court.

After a phenomenal 17 pt, 7 rebound game against the Laces last week, Reese kept her foot on the gas pedal. The Chicago Sky star put up 13 and 7 in only 11 minutes! Her defensive presence also impacted the game heavily, as the rim protector recorded 2 blocks and a steal.

Even with Angel Reese leaving it all on the court, the Rose BC handed the Phantom BC their first win of the season. WNBA superstar Sabrina Ionescu took over the game with an astounding 32 points and forced a win for her team. Nevertheless, Angel Reese’s game has been her biggest promoter thus far. Regardless of concerns regarding her efficiency, Reese’s motor and hustle compare with the best of the best.

Her skill set and efforts are what led to the McDonald’s endorsement deal, among others like Reebok and her signature shoe line. What remains to be seen, however, is the young star’s ceiling. If Angel Reese keeps up her performances, the sky is the limit. What do you think? How far can Angel Reese go throughout her career?
