Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd’s relationship was only speculation up until around the 2025 WNBA Draft, after which the duo was regularly seen together. They chose to keep the relationship out of the public eye. However, Bueckers has now opened up about their relationship in Apple TV’s new three-part docuseries, which premieres on August 21.

The series titled “The Dynasty: UConn Huskies” sheds some light on otherwise unknown aspects of the couple’s relationship. Bueckers has reportedly spoken about how their friendship has evolved during their time at the University of Connecticut, per an Instagram post by JustWomensSports.
“We kind of felt a spark a little bit different than what would just be considered a normal friendship.”
Per a report by People magazine, Paige Bueckers went on to speak about how the two met.
“Azzi ended up joining the team my sophomore year. It kinda just meshed as soon as we met. She’s sweet, she’s genuine, she has a huge, caring heart.”
Azzi Fudd also gave her take on the nature of their relationship and its dynamics in the initial years, and how everything unfolded between them over time.
“Paige and I are a couple, and everyone close to us that was important knew, but it was kind of one of those things…it’s just, it’s private,” Fudd says in the third episode, as per People.
The series does not stop at discussing only the private life of Bueckers and Fudd. It also elaborates on their 2025 NCAA championship-winning season and what it was like playing on that team under Geno Auriemma, the winningest coach of all time in college basketball. Auriemma has won an unprecedented 12 NCAA Division I National Championships.
Having played together at UConn, both Bueckers and Fudd now play together for the Dallas Wings as well. Paige Bueckers was selected as the number one pick in the 2025 draft, and Fudd was selected as the number one pick the very next year by Dallas.
They are yet to replicate the success they had at UConn in Dallas, though. With a 20-16 record, Dallas is 8th in the standings and has struggled against the top teams in the league, as displayed by their 6-13 record this season against the top eight teams.
The statements made on the new series are a deviation from Bueckers and Fudd’s earlier stance, when Bueckers expressed a desire for privacy.
“I believe me and Azzi’s personal relationship is nobody’s business but our own, and what we choose to share is completely up to us.”
Fans are excited as they will not only get to see more details about Bueckers and Fudd’s relationship, but also UConn’s journey to the title along with Geno’s four-decade journey in college basketball.
