Bam Adebayo and A’ja Wilson aren’t fans of jokes regarding their future children. During the NBA Cup semifinals, former ESPN reporter Rachel Nichols talked about Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti’s talent-hunting ability. She suggested that Presti would even be present in the doctor’s office when Wilson and Adebayo have a child.

A stunned Shai Gilgeous Alexander jokingly responded: “Sam takes his job very seriously, and whatever it takes to be great, he will do.” Wilson and Adebayo took to social media to respond. Wilson wrote: “Y’all don’t think this a lil strange orrrr weird..??? But I guess it’s a slow day in the office.” Meanwhile, Adebayo wrote: “This why privacy matters.”
Now, a rumour is floating around social media that A’ja Wilson is pregnant and expecting twins with Bam Adebayo. The account Hoop Crave wrote, “A’ja Wilson announces that she is pregnant and that she and Bam Adebayo are expecting twins.” The post also attached a supposed Instagram story posted by Wilson announcing the news with the ultrasound. Many fans immediately believed this post as it racked up more than 46000 likes, 4200 reposts, and 600 comments. However, is this news actually true?

Has A’ja Wilson Announced a Pregnancy With Bam Adebayo?
Unfortunately for fans who believe Adebayo and Wilson will have All-Star children, this news is false. Hoops Crave is a parody account that is mentioned in their bio and consistently puts out false information. For example, they also revealed that “50 Cent is set to produce a Netflix documentary centered around LeBron James: ‘This one ain’t about basketball.’” That post was given a fact-checking community note and flagged as false. Adebayo and Wilson aren’t expecting children, for now. That hasn’t been reported yet by a reputable source, and a simple look at Wilson’s Instagram activity doesn’t show any story with a sonogram.

What A’ja Wilson and Bam Adebayo Have Actually Said About Starting a Family
What makes this rumour believable is that it comes on the back of Wilson admitting that she will have children with Adebayo. “That is always a dream,” Wilson told Time. Wilson also joked that her father, Roscoe, will often call his daughter asking for Adebayo, and at times, her mom Eva, will text back, “Bam already told me,” when Wilson reveals something to her. “I didn’t know I was outside the group chat,” Wilson joked.
When the Time informed Wilson her former college coach, Dawn Staley, requested to know when the couple were planning to get married, Wilson said, “That’s the question I need you to deliver to him!” Adebayo seems to be close to committing. When Time posed the question to Adebayo, he said, “Y’all will know, because people are nosy and they’ll look at her hands. There you go.”
“As the young people say, that’s ‘twin,’ ” said Adebayo, “That’s what makes it so great. We’re striving for the same thing.” It seems both are also on the same page regarding future kids.
A’ja Wilson is arguably at her absolute peak. This year, she won her fourth MVP and her third title in the last four years. She featured on the Time cover and had her first signature shoe released with Nike. That was sold out within hours. Bam Adebayo earned his third all-star call-up just last year and has solidified himself as an elite defensive veteran. From their answers and where they are in their careers, it doesn’t seem like an immediate priority.
