Indiana Fever vs Chicago Sky: Preview & Prediction

Not much has gone the Indiana Fever’s way this season. And the most gut-wrenching news, which we almost expected, is finally here; CC will be missing the rest of the season after being sidelined since July 15. Now, with five season-ending injuries, it almost feels like they’re cursed. Still, they’ve refused to fold, signing Bree Hall for the rest of the year after Bibby and Clark were both ruled out.

Now, Indiana has the chance to sweep Chicago for the season. The Fever are 4-0 against the Sky in 2025, winning every game by double digits with an average margin of 24.8 points. For Chicago, this one’s about pride more than playoffs as they’ve already been eliminated. Indiana, on the other hand, is clinging to the No. 8 seed with just three games to go, sitting at 21-20 after the Los Angeles Sparks slipped up earlier this week.

One major advantage here for Indy is, the Sky will be without Reese. She’s been Sky’s best player this season, and without her presence, Chicago’s offense loses its anchor. But again, Indiana hasn’t exactly looked sharp lately. They’ve dropped two straight, including a sluggish 63-75 loss to the Valkyries and a tough 79-85 defeat to the Mercury. At Gainbridge Fieldhouse, they’ve lost three of their last four.

Chicago’s form isn’t much better. At 10-30 and 11th in standings, the Sky have dropped nine of their last eleven, and their struggles on the road, losing eight of the last nine, don’t make things easier. 

Statistically, the Fever hold the edge. Indiana is averaging 84.4 points per game on 45.2% shooting, while Chicago lags at 75.8 points on 42.3%. The Sky do rebound slightly better, but Indiana’s ball movement, 20.5 assists per game compared to Chicago’s 19.3, keeps them in rhythm offensively.

Prediction: Despite their injury woes, the Fever should close out the season series 5-0. With home court on their side and the Sky missing Reese, expect Indiana to take this one and keep their playoff push alive.
