Everyone has to tune in for Aerial Powers! The 31-year-old star stepped up for the Indiana Fever when the franchise needed her most. Powers joined the team midseason amid a string of injuries, and her impact was undeniable. While the team was eliminated by the Las Vegas Aces in the semi-finals, Powers held her own and averaged 9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. However, as the star becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2026, she has just made a big career announcement.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the Fever guard revealed that she has teamed up with PlayersTV, an athlete-owned media network, to launch her own show with longtime friend Mariah Harries. Powers wrote, “🥹🥹 my very own show with my bestie of 10+ years!! God is so good! Thank you to @ThePlayersTV for making dreams come true❤️. Make sure you lock in with us 2morrow as the first show will premiere at 2 pm ET 👀🤭❤️🥰”

Aerial Powers first joined the Fever on a short-term seven-day hardship contract in August, but her performance earned her a deal for the remainder of the season. With the 2025 WNBA season being her 10th season in the WNBA, Powers has already played for six different teams.
For her offseason plans, the star guard is playing abroad. She returned to the Turkish Super League before coming back to the U.S. with sights set on the 2026 WNBA season. However, she isn’t alone, as her teammate, Sophie Cunningham, is also speculated for a career post-WNBA.

Aerial Powers’ teammate opens up about plans beyond basketball
With more than 100 players hitting the free agency this season, Sophie Cunningham is one of them, who is also exploring life beyond the court. The 2025 WNBA season didn’t end very well for Cunningham, as she was averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists before she had to exit the season early after she tore the MCL in her right knee in August.
During her conversation with West Wilson in one of the episodes of her ‘Show Me Something’ podcast, the Fever guard opened up about her plans beyond the hardwood. She said, “I don’t really know what I want to do when I’m done playing. I feel like I want to play for as long as I can. Maybe another eight to 10 years — who knows. I would love to coach, but I also think I want to get married and I want to have a family.”
“The life of coaching is not so ideal for all that. So there’s that. I’d love to do broadcast,” she further added. “I would love to be in the entertainment space. So, who knows? I would also love to be on a yacht, not doing anything. We have a lot of options. I don’t know yet. It’s kind of being where my two feet are right now.”

While she is juggling a lot of ideas, for now, Cunningham is focused on what’s immediately in front of her: rehabbing her knee and preparing to return to the court stronger than ever, and preparing to run in the Honolulu marathon during the 2026 off-season.
