Sabrina Ionescu and Hroniss Grasu’s story began at the University of Oregon. It was the very place where both left their mark. “It’s always us🤍 here’s to forever with you”. That’s what Sabrina Ionescu wrote while sharing a photo of Hroniss Grasu down on one knee. The NFL center proposed in January 2023, during what Sabrina thought was a GQ photoshoot, and it was a perfectly executed surprise. “I was completely shocked and caught off guard because he played it off so well,” she later admitted. But their love story didn’t start there. While the exact timeline remains private, fans first got a public glimpse of their relationship in 2021. That year, Sabrina posted a few birthday photos with Grasu, quietly confirming what many had speculated.

When and where did Hroniss Grasu and Sabrina Ionescu get married?

After four years of going public and a year after getting engaged, Sabrina Ionescu and Hroniss Grasu tied the knot in Laguna Beach, California, on March 10, 2024. And yes, the ceremony was as picturesque as the location. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by ocean views and heartfelt cheers. Do you remember that Sabrina was a mentee of late Kobe Bryant and has become close with Vanessa and their daughters. Naturally, the Bryants were there to witness her big day. Alongside them were other high-profile guests, including Pau Gasol, Steve Nash, and several Oregon alumni. “Being able to put the world on pause for two weeks and celebrate something that is just so special, it was definitely very memorable and we’re still coming down from it,” she told PEOPLE in May 2024. Then, with a laugh, she added, “I’m still getting used to saying that I have a husband.”

If you do the math, Sabrina Ionescu and Hroniss Grasu celebrated their first wedding anniversary just a few months ago. To celebrate the milestone, Sabrina shared more wedding snapshots with the caption, “1 year down, forever to go. Loving every step of life with you. 3.10.24.” A year earlier, she admitted she was still getting used to saying she had a husband. Now, she’s embracing every part of it. That’s what growth looks like. That’s what real connection does. From “getting used to it” to “forever to go”, I guess, that’s the power of true love.
