Sophie Cunningham has been living in fear after facing an alleged stalking ordeal that has affected her sense of safety. The Indiana Fever star’s alleged stalker, Kevin Singh, recently appeared in court seeking a bail reduction, but a judge denied his request. Now, a detective’s account of Cunningham’s statement has revealed the toll the situation has taken on her.

“Sophie Cunningham said she has been staying in her home more, and she’s been having nightmares,” the detective wrote, according to IndyStar. “Sophie Cunningham also said she feels like she is always watching her back, doesn’t feel safe and is fearful of Kevin Singh.”

Singh, 49, faces stalking, harassment, and intimidation charges in connection with allegations involving Cunningham. He has been held at the Marion County Jail since his June 23 arrest, with bail set at $40,000. His attorney recently sought to have him released to home detention, arguing that Singh had been assaulted in jail and needed to be moved somewhere safer.

However, the prosecution countered that there were no records indicating Singh had reported an assault, visited the jail infirmary, or received treatment at Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital. So, the judge subsequently denied the request.

According to court records cited by IndyStar, Singh repeatedly posted about and messaged the Fever guard, including graphic and inappropriate messages. He also allegedly threatened John Ball, vice president of security for Pacers Sports and Entertainment. But the concerns reportedly extended beyond online activity.

In September 2025, Singh allegedly delivered a package addressed to Sophie Cunningham at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, containing a Guns N’ Roses T-shirt sprayed with men’s cologne and a letter asking her to contact him.

Cunningham told investigators she became aware of the social media posts in February 2026. Then in April, Ball sent Singh a cease-and-desist letter over what he described as a pattern of “increasingly troublesome” and “unwanted communications.” Yet according to court records, the alleged messages continued afterward.

IndyStar also reported that in December 2023, Singh was charged in Hendricks County with two counts of invasion of privacy after allegedly violating a protective order. But a jury found him not guilty in that case.

He subsequently faced 12 criminal charges in March 2024 and accepted a plea deal that resulted in probation. According to the report, Singh was still on probation when the allegations involving Sophie Cunningham arose. His June 2026 arrest also led to an alleged probation violation, with a warrant issued in Hendricks County. So even if he had posted bail in Marion County, he would have been transferred to Hendricks County custody and taken to its jail.

The case against Singh makes Sophie Cunningham the second Indiana Fever player to be targeted in a stalking case. Singh’s trial is scheduled for early 2027. Caitlin Clark also previously faced a similar ordeal involving a Texas man who was sentenced to 2½ years in prison in July 2025 after pleading guilty to stalking and harassment.
