Chelsea Gray’s College and Professional Career
Unlike most basketball stars, Gray was not born into an athletic family. She followed the path of the greats and created her own journey to the WNBA. While she started playing in high school, it was her collegiate run that stood out the most. She went to Duke Blue Devils and helped the team earn two ACC championships, three ACC regular-season titles, and three trips to the NCAA Elite Eight.

But apart from this, she had 1,210 points with 478 rebounds and 545 assists. She’s also one of only five Blue Devils to accomplish a triple-double and the only one to record the feat twice. So, while she was injured during the last two seasons of her collegiate run, she still got picked up as the 11th overall pick by the Sun during the 2014 WNBA Draft.
Ever since, she’s been unstoppable. While she was picked up by the Sun, she was traded to LA before the beginning of the season. As a part of the team, she averaged 5.9 points per game to help them win the championship title that season. Then, back in 2021, she inked a deal with the Aces, and ever since, she’s been with the team. Until now, she’s earned three championship rings and even secured a WNBA Finals MVP.

Chelsea Gray’s Brand Endorsements
Gray signed a partnership deal with the sports apparel brand and has her exclusive orange and purple edition of Dame 8 shoes with her moniker, POINT GAWDDDDD along the heel. These shoes were launched last year exclusively at the Adidas flagship store in Las Vegas. This collaboration reflects her strong marketability and her firm relationship with the brand.

Besides the league and the WNBA, Gray also makes the most of her off-season as she flies across the Atlantic. Before her inaugural season in the league, Gray had flown off to play in Isreal for Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion.

Then in the 2015-16 off-season, she went to Spain and played for the Spanish professional women’s basketball club from Girona called Uni Girona CB. In the same offseason, she played for Abdullah Gul Univerity’s Kayseri Basketbol club based in Kayseri, Turkey. She re-signed with the club and played the 2016-17 offseason there only.
However, for her next overseas stint, she signed with Botas SK, which is a women’s basketball club based in Ankara. Then for the 2020 season, she signed with Fenerbache women’s basketball, which is a part of a major Turkish multi-sport club based in Istanbul. And as LVCVA sponsored players on Aces, for 2024, and 2025, she earned $100,000 per year. Certainly, despite being a primary playmaker for the back-to-back champions, Gray likes to keep her hands as well as her bank accounts full.
