A lot of those people travel from really far to get here,” Caitlin Clark said last year, explaining why she makes it a point to sign memorabilia and connect with fans. Even now, sidelined with an injury since mid-July, she hasn’t let that stop her from creating those lovely moments. Sunday night’s Lynx versus Fever game was proof of that.

The Fever was on the road, and CC, who was seen working out with them, wandered off to talk to some fans. “Hey, it’s OK, you can cheer for us,” Clark told the kids to cheer for the Fever instead of the home team. “Don’t cheer for them, cheer for us.” The team lost four of its last five games and perhaps needed a little boost. However, Clark’s interaction with fans didn’t stop here.

In a pregame moment at the Target Center, she was seen signing autographs, and this caught the commentator’s attention. Marney Gellner shared: “If you are wondering if the Caitlin Clark craze has simmered while she has been injured, the answer is no. There is a frenzy wherever she goes in the building, and it is especially prominent here in Minneapolis because of the proximity to Iowa.

“And watching that phenomenon, before the game of Caitlin Clark, who took a long time to sign autographs and take pictures… It’s just a phenomenon to watch how people react to her.” Fellow commentator Lea B. Olsen couldn’t help but agree. She opined:

“It’s amazing. The look on the little girl’s face when she walked in was priceless.”

“Screaming, and she is just so cool and calm. Handled it well. Wonderful ambassador for the league,” Gellner added.

While Clark was in good spirits, her team fell against the Lynx for the second time in three nights. Their rivals walked away with a 97-84 win on Sunday to sweep a home-and-home series with the Fever. However, there was also a moment during the game when Clark appeared agitated. What did she do?

She was seen annoyed at the refs during the game as she walked onto the court with both hands wide open, portraying dissatisfaction, and approached the officials until her teammates pulled her back. She was reacting to her teammate, Lexie Hull, getting elbowed in the face. Hull was hurt and fell to the floor.

Will the Indiana Fever be able to make it to the playoffs?

Indiana was unable to secure a win against the Minnesota Lynx. The Lynx went on an 11-0 run to close the second quarter and took a 52-45 lead into halftime. Then, MVPhee Napheesa Collier hit a jumper and a three to give her squad a 12-point lead in the third quarter. The Fever trailed by around nine points the rest of the game. Eventually, the Lynx won.

They shot 57.1% from the field (36 of 63), 3-point range (12 of 21), and hit 13 of 14 (92.9%) from the free-throw line. Previously, the team defeated the Fever on Friday, 95-90. And the Fever had defeated Lynx to win the Commissioner’s Cup championship on July 1 (74-59).

However, this particular game in question was crucial for Indy, who were predicted earlier this season to contend for a championship and are now fighting to make the playoffs. While they’re short on roster depth, they still have a silver lining in their offensive core—Caitlin Clark.

Yes, she is on her way back. At least, that’s what it looks like from her dynamic warmups alongside her teammates, and that could help Indy when it comes to postseason positioning. On Sunday, she was seen participating in drills for the first time in over a month. It was a low-impact, non-contact drill. That’s good news for fans.
