The Washington Mystics vs the Atlanta Dream carried plenty of intrigue on Saturday night. But a game that was supposed to be about the Mystics’ underdog run or the Dream looking to make a comeback quickly became about Angel Reese’s love life. As cameras scanned the crowd, they caught her boyfriend, NBA star Wendell Carter Jr., on the sidelines. And though the couple has consistently shown up to support one another whenever their schedules allowed, this time it wasn’t just his presence that had everyone talking.

The Orlando Magic center was spotted wearing a unique Angel Reese-themed jersey, which quickly went viral as fans flooded social media demanding that the design be released through Reese’s website. But there’s a good chance fans may never get their hands on that jersey.

Why? Because the jersey appears to be another custom piece between the couple rather than an official merchandise release.

Back in December, Angel Reese made headlines when she attended one of Carter Jr.’s games wearing a customized Orlando Magic jersey with “My Man” stitched across the back. So this latest courtside appearance felt like a similar gesture, only this time Carter Jr. was the one paying tribute.

Now while the custom piece stole plenty of attention, Reese made sure to give fans another reminder of why she is one of the league’s most dominant forces. The 24-year-old finished the night by recording her seventh double-double of the season and the 56th of her WNBA career as she led Atlanta to its sixth victory in 2026.

Just a week ago, Angel Reese revealed that she was still “finding ways to get in where (she) fit in” with her new team. But if her start to the 2026 WNBA season is any indication, she’s settling in with the Dream better than just fine, as the ATL Peach Barbie went on to record 18 points and 17 rebounds.

However, her performance was hardly surprising. Since arriving in Atlanta from the Chicago Sky, Reese has looked far more comfortable in every game. In fact, she recently became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 900 career rebounds, while helping the Dream establish themselves as one of the league’s hottest teams. So her latest outing against the Mystics was yet another reminder of exactly what she brings to this Atlanta team.

Atlanta Runs Away With It, But Fans Are Still Waiting for One Angel Reese Evolution

After a disheartening loss to the Indiana Fever that snapped their win streak, the Dream entered this matchup with something to prove. But what was expected to be a routine bounce-back performance turned into a dominant statement, as Atlanta overwhelmed the Washington Mystics 109-77 on Saturday night.

Rhyne Howard led the charge with 19 points, and while Reese recorded just one point less than that, the part that stands out about her performance isn’t necessarily the scoring. Why? Because she continues to dominate on the board.

Grabbing 17 rebounds isn’t normal — It’s the kind of number that can completely swing a game. Atlanta never trailed after the first quarter, holding a double-digit lead for the final 26 minutes.

However, while the Dream’s depth and defense stood out in a complete team performance, one small storyline has left fans wanting more: Angel Reese’s perimeter game.

After she knocked down her first three-pointer of the season against the Connecticut Sun, head coach Karl Smesko promised fans that “it’ll show up in games more.” But through the next two outings, Reese has attempted just one shot from beyond the arc.

Yes, the coach also made it clear that it would take some time for her to get comfortable from there; fans are just eager to see an already dominant post player evolve into a legitimate shooting threat as well.

So as the season continues to roll on, the Dream will turn their attention to their next matchup against the Chicago Sky – a team Angel Reese already knows inside out after spending two seasons there. With that familiarity in play, all eyes will once again be on the Dream star to see whether she can get comfortable from beyond the arc.
