The Atlanta Dream star turned heads with a bold Barbie-inspired look, featuring a bubble gum pink wig, matching pink corset top, complementing glittery silver pencil skirt, and a hot pink handbag. She stepped onto the floor to get to her seats before the 3-Point Contest, causing Courtney Williams to burst from excitement as the star passed by, with the entire interaction being caught on the Studbudz livestream that Williams co-hosts with Natisha Hiedeman.
The reaction quickly spread across social media, but Reese’s outfit wasn’t just a fashion statement. The All-Star recently elevated her Barbie identity to the next level, with Mattel revealing a new signature Barbie doll modeled after the Dream star, complete with details inspired by her on-court style.
The doll includes her #5 jersey with Atlanta in pink. It also includes her signature leg sleeve, a headband, and her signature Reebok shoe. Reese was impressed by the effort put into the toy, and made it clear during an interview with People.
“It’s honestly a dream come true for me,” she said. “Barbie is an iconic brand, and to be part of that legacy is something I’m really proud of. It’s bigger than basketball for me.
“It’s about inspiring young girls to dream big, be confident, and know they can be exactly who they are. Seeing myself as a Barbie was surreal, but what impressed me most was how thoughtfully every detail was brought to life.”
Fellow players Gabby Williams and Marina Mabrey also praised the doll in interviews before All-Star festivities
“This is so cool,” the Tempo guard said. “She’s really paving the way for female athletes to be branded and NIL. If I owned a business, I would sign Angel Reese for sure.”
“Imagine being young Gabby and seeing a Barbie doll like this with someone who’s obviously a great role model like Angel herself,” Williams told reporters. “What I love is it’s just authentically her. I think that’s the coolest part. She doesn’t have to change herself to get a Barbie doll.”
