When Caitlin Clark released a statement saying she would not be able to participate in the WNBA All-Star Weekend, the were a lot of disappointed fans. With all the buildup of her being an All-Star captain and participating in the 3-Point contest, due to an injury, it all came to nothing. With a season already derailed multiple times due to injuries, this was another major blow to the fans.
While the injury might have stopped her from playing, the CC Effect is still well and truly active in Indiana. Despite the injury, Caitlin Clark is still actively participating in the All-Star festivities. From fan meet and greet to leading the charge to cheer her teammates, she is doing it all. She even made time for a surprise appearance on Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe’s A Touch More’s live podcast. Making her entrance to the Iconic Chicago Bulls’ finals intro music, the crowd in attendance was pleasantly surprised. She also made sure to support her teammates just like any passionate fan supports their favorite player.
As her teammate Lexie Hull was being introduced, Caitlin let the charge and started egging on the crowd. Caitlin started hyping them up to cheer for Lexie, and the crowd responded with rapturous applause. She could be seen shouting, “ Let’s go” to the crowd multiple times. Though Lexie Hull could only score 20 points and failed to make it to the finals, the applause she received was worthy of a championship in itself.

Indiana Fever Locker Room Stays Together Despite Caitlin Clark’s Injuries
The Indiana Fever locker room is one of the, if not the best, in the league. Sure, they are brimming with talent and potential. But what sets them apart is how close and together they are despite all the injury setbacks and the inconsistent form this year. The reason for this unity can be the fact that Indiana managed to keep the core roster from last season intact, and added some experienced heads to it in the off-season.

Vets like Natasha Howard have not only come in clutch, as evidenced in the Commissioner’s Cup final, but she has also helped the team navigate some difficult challenges. It is never easy when the best player on your team is injured. Or when you feel like there is a target on you every time you step on the court. It is this togetherness that has kept this team in a fighting position in the league standings, as well as a Cup title.

Earlier in the year, some rumors were doing the rounds that the Indiana locker room had turned toxic, and players weren’t interested in joining them. All these rumors have since been debunked.

A team led by Caitlin Clark will always the spotlight and a target on their backs. That’s how it works, sadly. But the Fever locker room seems to have gotten used to it, and they are not letting any outside voice disrupt the tranquility of the squad. Now this togetherness must translate into consistent success. But that’s a topic for another day. For now, the focus on the hoops community is on the All-Star game and how CC manages to lead her team; from the sidelines this time. Who do you think will triumph, team Collier or team Clark? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
