The LV Aces are the hottest team in the W right now, as the two-time WNBA champions just notched their 25th win of the season. “We’ve got to be able to still improve while we’re winning. That’s really important,” Las Vegas coach Becky Hammon said in the post-game press conference after their 11th consecutive win. “It’s easy to improve when you’re losing. But you’ve got to have that same edge and mental approach to your success.”

That makes sense, as the Aces have just become the second team across the W this season to secure a playoff berth with five games still remaining. But next in their way is the Atlanta Dream, who’ve set a franchise record for wins this season after beating the NY Liberty 78-62. So, will the Aces be able to keep adding more?

Injury report

While Aces and Dream aren’t 100% healthy, they’re on the same page. It’s because both teams have one player out. While it’s Jordin Canada from Dream, Cheyenne Parker-Tyus will be missing from Aces.

Las Vegas Aces vs Atlanta Dream prediction

While the Dream haven’t been as dominating as the Aces, they’ve still won nine of their last 11 games. But considering the head-to-head meetings this season, Las Vegas holds the edge. The most recent win came on August 19th, when they defeated Allisha Gray and company 74-72.

So, it’s pretty understandable why ESPN gave the Aces a 62% chance to win the upcoming game. After all, the Aces have a history of controlling games, as earlier in July, they won a matchup against the Dream by 15 points. The last game Atlanta won against the Aces was last year on June 1, 2024, when they closed the game at a 78-74 mark.

But still, they’ve got a chance, as the last win the Aces had against Chicago tied for the fewest wins in the league. “Back in early June, we probably would have lost this game… I think it just shows our growth throughout the year and how we’re able to just come together as a team and grind out a win,” said Jackie Young, who led Las Vegas with 22 points.
