Kamilla Cardoso will have to wait to make an official WNBA debut. The 6-foot-7 center will be out of action for four to six weeks courtesy of an unfortunate shoulder injury she suffered in her first pre-season appearance against Minnesota. However, that doesn’t stop her from commending her SEC-rival-turned-Chicago teammate Angel Reese. Both these flawless athletes gave the fans a glimpse of their amazing chemistry in the opening pre-season encounter. Consequently, everyone wants to see them together again soon.

Providing her eagerness to play alongside the three-time All-American Reese, Cardoso also acknowledged the prowess of the forward in her recent media address. Seemingly, she was asked to express herself about playing with Reese after she recovers. To which, Cardoso replied, “I think it’s going to be amazing. Like I said before, she’s a great player, and I’m a great player. I’m just excited to go out there with her and see all the great things we can do together.”

Despite the loss, both these players looked comfortable out there in the middle. Before Cardoso was forced to sit out, she was able to combine well with Angel Reese, and both of them put up 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for Chicago on their debuts. In addition to this, both had a combined field goal percentage of 38.46%. One of the highlights of the evening was the single assist from Reese, which was directed towards Cardoso and resulted in a picture-perfect 3-foot layup.

Anyhow, Cardoso is not the only teammate Reese is trying to connect with. In a special off-court gesture, the former LSU star had a special surprise for her Chicago colleagues.

In her intimation, Reese said, “They were talking to me about my whole Beats thing and Bri had commented, ‘I want a pair,’ so I’mma get the whole team a pair of Beats too. Being able to have the impact that I do have, I can get the team whatever they want. Wherever they want to go, we’re going.”

It is indeed delightful to see the bond Angel Reese has with the rest of her teammates. The kind of maturity that she’s displaying as a rookie speaks volumes about the kind of mindset she is bringing to her professional career. It will be worth watching what she brings to the table next.
