As the winner-take-all Game 5 of the 2024 WNBA Finals between the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx gets underway, Angel Reese did not miss the moment. Among the many people catching a glimpse of the matchup is Chi-town Barbie. But it isn’t just her presence that’s turning heads.

This time, it’s her eye-catching outfit. The 22-year-old Maryland native had two great players at her position to watch during the playoff series—both teams’ leading scorers, Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier. Having looked up to both stars, the LSU Tigers icon did not miss the opportunity to pay equal tribute and how.

“Who can make me a half Stewie, half Phee jersey by SUNDAY????” had read the post yesterday. Reese followed through, sporting her unique half Stewie, half Phee” jersey.

As she showed up to applaud as part of the audience, Reese completed her look with denim ripped shorts, knee-length black leather boots, a watch, and a green handbag. At first, her dream outfit seemed nowhere to be found, as nobody adhered to Reese’s request. “So I guess nobody can do this for me by tomorrow,” she remarked.

But eventually, she found the right person. “Thank you @jocehu for making this for me in less than 24 hourssss,” she wrote on her Instagram story. Hopping on a little wordplay, “So Unrivaled,” she added in the same story. Clearly, the WNBA star didn’t want to hurt the feelings of either fanbase during this pivotal finals game. However, for Reese, it seemed more like a thank you to Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart for the upcoming new league.

Angel Reese is waiting to be “Soooo Unrivaled

This offseason is going to be unlike any other, as Collier and Stewart are launching their new league, “Unrivaled.” A new format, higher salaries, but with familiar faces—that’s what it promises. As the thought of this new 3-on-3 women’s basketball league seemed exciting, Reese was ahead of the curve.

In September, she became one of the first 10 players to sign with the league, which is scheduled to debut in January 2025. “Soooo unrivaled yessss!” Reese wrote on her official X account in response to the news about the off-season plans. The only things left to be revealed are her performance in 3-on-3 full-court play and, of course, the higher salary offered.

As of now, nearly all of the league’s spots—26 out of 30—have been filled. But the real anticipation is for Reese’s arch-rival, Caitlin Clark, to join the league. Although Clark has confirmed she plans to try her hand at professional golf this offseason, there have been attempts at luring her in. And Napheesa Collier too admits it would be good to have her in. But there’s no progress on the matter yet. What do you think? Will Reese get the competition at Unrivaled, too?
