One word for the Chicago Sky’s frontcourt is dependable. Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese come together to form the “Skyscrapers” of Chi-Town, and let’s be honest… they’re the only thing keeping Tyler Marsh’s team together. Reese and Cardoso are averaging about 25+ points and nearly 20 rebounds a game, and in terms of defense? Well, it’s been a nightmare in the paint for almost every team that faces them. However, injuries haven’t helped the team out at all.

First, it was Courtney Vandersloot’s ACL tear, which really set the tone for the season. And now? Both Ariel Atkins and Angel Reese are falling into a vicious cycle of injuries and games missed. Reese, in particular, has been dealing with a persistent leg injury over the last month or so. She missed a game right before the All-Star Break and has been deemed ‘questionable’ for Chicago’s matchup today.

But what’s the scoop? Well, the six-foot-two center, who has been a defensive rock for her team, made it through the ASG and the game against Minnesota without any issues. However, it seems like her leg injuries aren’t completely done for just yet! Coach Tyler Marsh informed the media that Reese isn’t a hundred percent right now.

In the pre-game media availability, Marsh got candid about what his star player is going through. “[Angel Reese] was feeling a little tight coming out of the game the other day. I think she wants to be at her best self for her teammates. She’s a competitor, she wants to be out there and compete. She wants to be able to do it at a hundred percent.” He said, explaining the reasoning behind Reese’s name in the injury report.

The two-time All-Star hasn’t been ruled out just yet, but it might be better for her to sit out and heal up. Chicago is currently near the bottom of the Eastern Conference, and it’s very clear that they have a long way to go. Not to mention, if the center gets even one more technical, she’ll be swiftly handed a one-game suspension. Let’s find out what that’s all about!

What’s your perspective on:

Can the Chicago Sky survive without Angel Reese, or is their season hanging by a thread?

Angel Reese is in murky waters ahead of important Indiana matchup

Would it be fair to say everybody wants to see an Angel Reese vs Caitlin Clark showdown? We had one during the season opener, but every game since then has been affected by some injury or another. Even now, Reese isn’t a hundred percent, but she’s gunning for that Indiana vs Chicago fixture on Sunday.

However, it might be her penchant for trouble that sits her out of that game. Angel Reese currently has seven technical fouls, the most in the league, and is on the verge of a suspension for the same. It’s quite clear that the six-foot-two center is very vocal and emphatic about the things she believes, but it often leads to misunderstandings and penalties.

If Reese ends up playing tonight’s game against Seattle, she would need to tread with caution. A single technical could lead to a suspension during the Indiana game, and no one wants that! After all, the Clark-Reese rivalry is singlehandedly the biggest plotline in the W right now, and all the fans want to see that exciting back-and-forth action!
