A’ja Wilson and Bam Adebayo spent a long time keeping their relationship private. They finally confirmed it in February 2025. Since then, their running bit of trolling each other has gotten big enough that even the WNBA’s own account is on it.

During a recent Aces game, Wilson handed Adebayo a pair of novelty sunglasses to try on courtside. And the league posted the exchange itself, captioning the post, “The saga of A’ja and Bam stealing each other’s stuff continues.”
That single post captures exactly why fans can’t get enough of this couple. They’re each other’s biggest supporters, on and off the court. But it’s the friendly chaos underneath that support, the kind the WNBA itself now tracks, that’s turned them into a fan favorite.
The clearest example beyond this instance is a running trend where they blur each other out of their own social media posts. In June, Adebayo posted a photo with Wilson’s mother and deliberately blurred Wilson herself out of the frame, a move fans quickly tied back to Wilson doing the same thing to him after he pulled a hidden-camera prank on her for the show Foul Play. What started as one prank has turned into an ongoing back-and-forth neither of them seems interested in ending.
That same instinct to show up for each other runs through everything else they do publicly. Adebayo has worn Wilson’s signature “A’One” Nike sneakers on an NBA court, and Wilson was in Washington cheering him on when he scored a historic 83 points against the Wizards in March, a game he said afterward was fueled in part by her being there. Wilson, in turn, has become a regular courtside presence at Adebayo’s games, earning him the affectionate broadcast nickname “Mr. A’ja Wilson” whenever he shows up for hers.
That kind of support was never going to stay simple between these two.
The Fans Can’t Get Enough Of Their Courtside Banter
Alongside the blurring bit, Wilson and Adebayo have built a second running joke: stealing each other’s belongings courtside, then showing them off afterward. It’s shown up in different forms all year, from Wilson inspecting and hyping up Adebayo’s outfit after an Aces win over Dallas, to Adebayo trying on a pair of novelty sunglasses Wilson handed him mid-game, with the WNBA’s own account captioning it, “The saga of A’ja and Bam stealing each other’s stuff continues.”
The fans wasted no time in expressing their warm and affectionate reaction.
“😂😂😂A’ja gonna make sure Bam be just as silly as her!!! Bam and A’ja are kids at heart and so entertaining to watch!!!! They both UNSERIOUS😂😂😂,” one fan said, framing the dynamic as Wilson actively pulling Adebayo into her sense of humor rather than the other way around.
“Love their relationship and how supportive they’re of one another,” another fan said a reminder that underneath the trolling, most of the reaction is really about how genuine the two seem together.
“She’s so silly, and he loves it lmao ❤️,” another fan said.
“Gotta love these two,” one fan chipped in.
“Nah they’re just so freaking cute 🥰,” one fan aptly summed it up.
Between the blurred photos and borrowed items, it doesn’t look like Wilson and Adebayo have any plans to dial back the bit. Wilson has bigger things on her plate soon enough. She was just named a starter for the 2026 All-Star Game, her seventh starting nod in eight appearances and the Aces host Indiana Fever on July 12 before the league heads into All-Star Weekend in Chicago on July 25. If the pattern holds, expect Adebayo courtside for at least one of those, and expect the two of them to find something new to steal from each other before the night’s over.
