“Of course A’ja Wilson has her own shoe — what else would you expect from a three-time MVP?” Nike certainly took their sweet time putting out A’ja Wilson’s signature shoes. After a seven-year partnership between the two, the footwear company announced the A’Ones in early February this year! It was the perfect tribute for the WNBA legend, and fans couldn’t wait for their release. But what made the shoe so special?

The A’Ones are a perfect tribute to the Aces star! A’ja Wilson and Nike both collaborated on the design of the shoe, and they ended up with something beautiful. From the embroidered logos, to the Nike swoosh, everything was personalized for the reigning MVP. In particular, the swoosh, which is pearlized and reflective, is a tribute to Wilson’s grandmother. “I wore those pearls forever, I dressed them up, I dressed them down. They gave me that sense of confidence.” She said about the design, wanting her fans to feel the same kind of confidence.

These shoes mean the absolute world to Wilson, and that’s why today is a special day for her. Even though the A’Ones are slated for a May 8th release, A’ja Wilson and Nike set out to do a promotional tour. Their first stop? Columbia, South Carolina. But it’s no ordinary promotional tour, however, as fans get an opportunity to buy the shoe early!

A’ja Wilson was over the moon, and she had no qualms about sharing her feelings on social media. “I just sold my first shoe 🥹💞 excuse me while I go cry.” The WNBA star posted on her Threads account, expressing her joy and happiness during the momentous occasion. Wilson might need a break to cry tears of joy, and we definitely understand why!

A’ja Wilson’s bringing the Heat for her promotional tour

Nike and A’ja Wilson are going all in for the promotion of her signature shoe! After years of waiting for this opportunity, the Aces star is making full use of it. And even though the A’Ones are supposed to be released in May, the company is giving fans a very unique chance!

The tour kicked off on March 16th in South Carolina, her hometown, where she played college ball. She won the national championship there, and was the Most Outstanding Player in the Final Four. It then continues on March 22nd in Las Vegas, where her entire pro career has played out so far. The reigning MVP has an impressive resume with the Aces, reaching the promised land twice, and attaining a myriad of personal accomplishments as well.

And if two events weren’t enough, Nike decided on another one as well! A’ja Wilson will be pulling up to Nike Tampa on April 3rd, giving fans another chance to have a preview at the shoe, and purchase them if they so pleased. Wilson has been balling out both on the court and off the court, and it’s honestly time for her to reap the rewards with her shoe!
