Cooper Teare is a rising middle- and long-distance runner who has constantly been raising the bar with his outstanding performance. Teare is now eyeing prominence among elite runners after showing his mettle on the track during his collegiate years. The California native is a 2x NCAA champion in the outdoor 5000m and indoor distance medley relay events. He is also a 3000m runner-up at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

At the beginning of the year, Cooper Teare delivered a spectacular performance at the BU Terrier DMR Challenge/Last Chance meet, finishing just 0.15 seconds behind training partner Cole Hocker in the men’s indoor 5,000-meter race. Teare clocked 12:57.97, securing second place in a nail-biting race, while Hocker edged ahead with a 12:57.82 victory. While he is paving his way to becoming a lead runner, one person who is constantly cheering him up is none other than his girlfriend, Rachel Louise McArthur. Meet Cooper Teare’s girlfriend, Rachel McArthur

Born on August 4, 1999, in Virginia, McArthur attended Patriot High School in Bristow, Virginia, where she excelled in cross country and track and field. While focusing on running, she might have never thought that someday, her passion would also result in finding a soulmate with shared interests.

McArthur is also no less of an achiever than Teare. She is also a distinguished American middle-distance runner who specializes in the 1500-meter race. Like her boyfriend, McArthur also won in the women’s mile at the BU DMR Challenge in 2025, winning in 4:26.00.

She is not just a boss on track, but also off track. Off the track, she’s all about giving back—coaching local athletes in Virginia and volunteering at a Pennsylvania animal shelter. Not just in sports, she is also giving an outstanding performance when it comes to studies. She majored in speech and hearing sciences and crushed it with a 3.30 GPA, managing it by getting spots on both the Pac-12 and USTFCCCA Academic Honor Rolls in 2020. Thus, it is safe to say that she is balancing brain, speed, and a big heart.
