A picture of the Curren family which shows Tom Curren and Pat Curren, has taken the whole surfing community on a nostalgic trip. Pat Curren was responsible for shaping the surfboard as we know it, back in the day. Meanwhile, Tom Curren, the son of Pat Curren, was the three-time ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals) champion.
The surfing world goes on a nostalgic trip
The picture shows Tom Curren and Pat Curren walking out of Cove, Costa Rica, during the 1970s. This is the same year when Pat Curren shaped the surfboard which is used by every single surfer in the world. A few years down the lane, Curren went on a streak of domination in the sport.
Fans showed the position the Curren family holds in their heart, commenting, “Surfing royalty. Dad a big wave rider and son a shredder.”

“There just wasn’t media like there is today but the little I did see of Tom, you could tell right away there was this relaxed confidence and this smooth style, never saw anything like it again, right then the whole thing changed like the movies go shred bro, but he’s still my favorite for the impact it had on me then,” a fan recalled, talking about his memories of Tom Curren and Pat Curren.
