The 2023 athletics season has been one-of-a-kind. Many staunch U.S. track and field prodigies managed to secure a staunch win at this event. Noah Lyles, who broke Usain Bolt’s 200-meter record under 20 seconds on the London tracks, clinched three golds for the country at the Worlds. At the same time, LSU sensation Sha’Carri Richardson also won her first-ever gold on the Budapest tracks, dominating team Jamaica.

Interestingly, following this staunch win for the Texas-based athlete, the 23-year-old Richardson has been honored by America with a special gift. Recently, a track and field fan account announced the update on social media, leaving fans in a frenzy.

Sha’Carri Richardson receives an honorary gift

On October 7th, Track Spice posted an intriguing post on X. According to the tweet, “To honor track and field athlete Sha’Carri Richardson, the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees discussing naming the track at John Kincaide Stadium to the Sha’Carri Richardson Track!” The John Kincaide Stadium, which was opened in 2005, is used for sports, including athletics, football, and soccer, and is equipped with 15,000 seats.

Interestingly, this honor comes for Richardson after the athlete managed to surpass Jamaican legends Shericka Jackson and Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce at the 2023 World Athletics Championship. The athlete won the 100-meter event by clocking in 10.65 seconds. Shericka Jackson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce had settled for the second and third positions by clocking in 10.72 and 10.77 seconds, respectively.

Interestingly, apart from Sha’Carri Richardson, Noah Lyles also helped dominate the Jamaicans at the World Athletics Championship. The 26-year-old Lyles also managed to join Usain Bolt’s shoulder at this event.

At the 2023 Worlds, Noah Lyles secured a historic triple win on the tracks. In the 100-meter event, the athlete secured his first-ever gold with a personal best time of 9.83. Following this win, the athlete managed to surpass Erriyon Knighton to defend his 200-meter title by clocking in 19.52 seconds, making him the first athlete to win gold in both events since Usain Bolt. Lastly, on August 26, the 26-year-old joined the forces of Team USA to win another gold in the 100-meter relay race.
