Retirements are a part of one?s career. However, it is the norm for athletes to retire much earlier than their corporate-working peers. Similarly, Allyson Felix shared a post on her Instagram account to celebrate her journey so far.

Most athletes retire early on as maintaining their peak form becomes arduous after a point. For most, it is generally between their late-20s to mid-30s. However, Felix broke away from the norm by competing in her final season at 36.

Allyson Felix shares an emotional post prior to her retirement

The five-time Olympian took to Instagram recently to celebrate her last event on the Stadion ?l?ski during the 2022 Orlen Janusz Kusocinski Memorial meet.

Taking a trip down the memory lane, Felix?wrote,??In 2018 I was pregnant when I ran here. In 2019 I ran here as a new mother as I worked myself back into form. Last night, I ran in this stadium for the final time and it gave me all the feels?

?My journey continues,??added the soon-to-retire athlete.

So far, the post has garnered almost 37k likes on the social media platform. Moreover, prominent Olympians such as?Lindsey Vonn, Alex Morgan, and Emma Coburn have liked and commented on the post to show their support for the decorated sprinter.

Felix?has had a great run during her career as a track and field athlete. Furthermore, she is also performing well during her final season in the sport. She secured the silver in the 400m event,?clocking?50.71s. This time marks her season-best in the event.
