Usain Bolt is the G.O.A.T. of track and field events. The Jamaican sprinter was unmatched in his prime, and many of his records remain unbroken to this day. Being the undisputed king of the 100m and the 200m events, Bolt gathered a huge fan following, with many young athletes looking up to him for inspiration. Many athletes and celebrities would have their ‘fan moments’ when they got the chance to meet Bolt.

Usain was rarely the fan in a meeting with a celebrity. But, there came a time when Bolt had a fan moment of his own, as he got to meet the greatest player basketball has ever seen.

Usain Bolt gushes over meeting with Michael Jordan

There aren’t many who can send people into a frenzy just by making an appearance; basketball legend Michael Jordan is one of those people who can.? Nearly two decades after his retirement, the popularity of MJ still knows no bounds. He is still an inspiration for the youngsters starting their careers. He is also an idol for many of the iconic athletes of the generation, as experienced by Usain Bolt during their meet.

At the 2015 Super Bowl, Bolt met with Jordan for the first time in his life. Recalling the incident, Usain said, “I just wanted a picture. You hear about Michael Jordan, and you see some of his films and stuff over the years. It was great to meet him and get a word in. I didn?t try to question him too much. It felt weird asking him about the past and stuff like that. So I just talked a little bit about basketball. Not when he used to play, but just random games and stuff.”

Bolt said he did not want to pester MJ too much as he was busy watching his team’s match on the phone. Jordan is the co-owner of the NBA team Charlotte Hornets. They were briefly named Charlotte Bobcats from 2004-2014 before taking back their original name.

The greatest gathering of sports stars

The 2015 Super Bowl not only saw Usain meeting Jordan for the first time but also witnessed one of the greatest ever gatherings of sports events.

Bolt also met with NFL superstars Peyton Manning and Robert Griffin III. He said he was fascinated by them and asked both of them the specifics of their job. “I got different answers,” said Bolt. Also in attendance of the game was the New York Yankees’ shortstop, Derek Jeter. American beach volleyball player and three-time Olympic medalist April Ross was also a part of the star-studded lineup.

The night proved to be a great one for the legendary Tom Brady and his team, the New England Patriots, who took home the championship. Presumably, Bolt would’ve been feeling equally as amazing as Brady, having met with the greatest of the greats.
