Michael Phelps is a name not many are unaware of. Considered the GOAT of swimming, Phelps is also an avid Golfer who appeared on the popular TV Show ‘The Haney Show”. The Haney Show is a reality TV show wherein Hank Haney helps celebrities to improve their golf game.

Phelps isn’t the first sporting legend to try their hand at another sport. Michael Jordan took retirement from basketball to join baseball before making a comeback to his original sport. Whilst Jordan wasn’t as successful at baseball, Phelps’ stint at golf has been slightly better.

Interestingly enough, Phelps holds the record for the ‘longest televised putt’ in golf. A massive putt of 159ft (53 yards) saw him beat out the likes of Tiger Woods, Gary Player, and Tom Watson, to name a few.

Phelps plays a lot of golf in his free time and even partakes in a lot of tournaments. In a Pro-Am tournament in 2012, Phelps defied logic to putt from 159ft, and eventually, hear the commentators’ disbelief.

Phelps’ return to the Olympics after 2012

After achieving the feat of “monster putt”, Phelps made a return to Swimming in the Olympics of 2016. Michael managed to win 5 golds and 1 silver before finally retiring from the sport. 2016 may well have been Phelps’ last “stroke” but the legend will continue to stay associated with the sport. During the Tokyo Olympics, Phelps served as an analyst with NBC and also served as an announcer.
