The scenic beaches in Hawaii attract a lot of visitors and surfing fans from throughout the world. While the giant swirls in the pipe keep luring the surfers to try the challenges, the communities feel awe of the overall vibe that comes into existence. But everything comes with steep slopes. Throughout time, the beaches in Hawaii have earned the tag of death trap because of shark attacks. In fact, the number of shark attacks on Hawaiian beaches has largely contributed to the mammoth figure of the overall unprovoked shark attacks in the USA. A menace far to be ignored! And speaking about the devil, another fateful incident happened on the Hawaiian beach on Friday morning.

According to the report published by Hawaiinewsnow. com, a 61-year-old surfing fan faced a shark attack on November 1. The report claims that the incident happened in a spot named Sandpiles in Waiehu Beach Park. However, multiple statements are flowing in the victim’s name. But the locals confirmed it to be ‘Kenji’. Furthermore, the locals informed the outlet that Kenji had experienced a bite on his leg when he was sitting on his board. The injury critically affected his leg in no time. Yet Kenji tried to fight back with the situation.

After experiencing the bite, he jumped into the water to swim to the shore. But after a few distances, several surfers spotted him in the water, splashing desperately. From there, they took him to the shore. Soon after his reaching the shore, the locals informed the Maui Police Department about the mishap. Fortunately, a quick response team appeared on the scene and “applied a tourniquet to the surfer’s leg” to stop the bleeding. However, the fire department and medics reached the place meanwhile. But the loss had already taken place by then.

Per the fire department’s account, Kenji has almost lost his leg just below the knee. The severe bite has ruptured a few nerves in the injured place. Still, Kenji’s brave attempt to reach the shore on his own made sure not to lose much blood from the injured place. Furthermore, the concerted effort of the medics, MPD, and other departments on the shore saved him from facing a worst-case scenario.

According to the details, the surfing enthusiast is in Maui Memorial Medical Center right now, being treated in critical care. Meanwhile, the Maui Fire and Ocean Safety Department has put restrictions on the surfing and swimming activities in the concerned area. This will continue until the afternoon of November 2. However, an extension can be imposed if any shark comes into view in the water. A few more regulations have made ways, restricting the footfall in the place. But is there any way to decrease the overall count of shark attacks? This year, another conflict happened on the Hawaiian beaches that shook the surfing world.

The surfing fraternity experienced a profound loss this year because of the shark attack

The beaches in Hawaii have always posed to be something that turned the eyes of surfers. They have failed to avoid the call of the waves while knowing the danger hiding behind them—the sharks’ jaws. Something similar occurred this June at Malaekahana Beach on Oahu’s North Shore. This time the surfer was someone who knew the water like the back of his hand. Yet, he couldn’t avoid the outcome.

As per reports, on June 23, Tamayo Perry went to the aforementioned beach to surf. Meanwhile, the blue water satisfied him with wave after wave and he continued to do what he used to do best- taking his chance on the surfboard. But there had been a shark around the corner. Then the outcome followed. Perry experienced a fatal injury and after lifting him to the shore, the medics pronounced him dead. As per the locals, Tamayo Perry never gave any sign of having unsettling feet on the surfboard or any desperate attempt to mingle with the danger. But on the fateful day, he failed to avoid the accident, and he had to pay his price. The frequency of such incidents raises questions about everything, and no one has any answer.
