Recently, Asier Martinez came up on the tracks to participate in the 60m hurdles showdown. However, Asier’s run was different than an ordinary run to cross the finish line before others.

After the conclusion of Asier Martinez’s 60m hurdles race, where he showed up protesting, Travis Miller took it to his official Twitter account and posted a couple of pictures of the track and field star. Along with the pictures, he penned, “Asier Martinez running under protest after getting shown a red card for a false start.

The 24-year-old track and field star entered the Emirates Arena in Glasgow to dominate the championship with the help of his impressive sprinting skills. Asier Martinez, representing Nike Running, secured a victory at the 60m hurdles race at the 2024 World Indoor Championships. However, his triumphant victory was marred by a null start.

Interestingy. Asier has a reaction time of 0.093 seconds, which fell short of the permitted time frame of 0.100 seconds. Consequently, Martinez was shown a red card and was declared disqualified at the event. Despite this setback, the Spanish Federation vehemently advocated for his reinstatement by lodging various appeals so that he could secure a spot at the upcoming showdown.

Martinez’ quest for final glory

Earlier this day, Martinez displayed prowess at the Emirates Arena by comfortably advancing to the Semi-finals of the 60m hurdles; he not only clinched second place in his heat but also clocked an impressive time of 7.62 seconds that led him behind Frenchman Wilhem Belocian with 7.47.
