Breakdancing, which doesn’t come anywhere near conventional sports, is making an entry at the Paris Olympics 2024. As thrilling as it sounds, the dancer whom the world has eyes on has more thrill up her sleeves.

Carmarry Hall, dancing away in her room since 7-8 years of age, has grown up listening to Aaliyah’s album, Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number. Nicknamed ‘Pep-C’ for her energetic nature, this year holds accolades for her. But is Hall not coming to Paris for something huge she’s investing in currently?
Carmarry Hall is a savior to the youngsters
Amid training days, the 26-year-old is taking some time off to inspire the young dancers. Her commitment to dancing dates back to an instance in the 1970s, when kids of color struggled to make a mark on the global stage. Fast forward, stepping as an advocate, Hall gathered a bunch of youngsters to train them with all her heart. She said, “These kids didn’t have much. They didn’t have a lot of nothing. They really created a multibillion-dollar industry and they did it just because they wanted to be creative.” The ‘multibillion-dollar industry refers to the Black American culture that goes beyond being just rich now.
Moreover, she also spoke about never letting young athletes question their abilities. Sitting in the audience, several aspiring Olympians sang in the same tone as Hall and walked home with valuable insights. Though she’s investing her time in building up young confidence, her Paris plans have not altered at all.
Eyes on the Paris Olympics title
The one who said “Breaking isn’t huge like gymnastics or swimming or something like that. It’s fairly underground”, crosses mountains to pursue her dreams. Breakdancing was last included in the Olympic roster at the 2018 Youth Olympics and is bringing back the popular category to lure young viewers.
Hailing from Broad Ripple High School, Hall has cemented her name as one of the world’s most prominent break-dancers. Representing Indiana and Team USA, Hall has many hearts to please this time. On August 2023, at the national championships in Philadelphia, she secured the silver place. Inarguably, that event played a pivotal role in her Paris Olympics selection. She even won the Red Bull BC One regional competition as an icing on the cake.
