4 Nations Face-Off winner Seth Jarvis did not have the best of restarts to his NHL regular season thanks to the Toronto Maple Leafs beating the Carolina Hurricanes 6-3. With zero points and just two shots on goal, Jarvis was practically invisible on Saturday. But guess what? He is going to get plenty of visibility, and pretty soon.

The NHL’s PR division and Amazon Prime announced that Seth Jarvis will be featured in the documentary series FACEOFF: Inside the NHL. The reporter Chris Johnston has revealed that Seth Jarvis will be joining Brady Tkachuk in Amazon Prime’s behind-the-scenes docu-series. The NHL PR posted on X/Twitter, “Production has commenced with Box To Box and NHL Productions capturing content at #4Nations Face-Off and throughout the NHL’s current season.”

While the makers are yet to announce the other players who will feature alongside the younger Tkachuk and Jarvis, the documentary is set to go above and beyond to bring fans an all-round view of the high-stakes world of hockey. Featuring interviews with players, their rivals, and their closest ones, the series will cover everything from crunch moments on the ice to softer, slower moments off it.

Season 1 of the Amazon’s documentary series featured Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid, Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman, forward David Pastrnak, and Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog. In fact, episode three titled Learning to Win also Brady’s brother Matthew Tkachuk. As for Seth Jarvis, despite a poor showing against the Maple Leafs, it’s not a surprise that he has been chosen to feature in the second season especially considering the performances he has put up in recent years.

2 points. That’s the margin by which Seth Jarvis missed the 100-point mark in the 2019-20 season with Portland of the Western Hockey League. He was on a run with 63 points in his final 23 games and would have surely reached the milestone had it not been for the coronavirus. But disappointment didn’t last for too long as he was picked up by the Hurricanes in the 2020 NHL draft. He hasn’t looked back since.

The 5’10” centre’s 2023-24 season was a bang on! Last year, Seth Jarvis played 81 games to land 33 goals and assisted teammates 34 times. Guess what it earned him. A huge eight-year contract worth $63.2 million. And it’s not like he is going through a slump this season either, having 22 goals and 23 assists to his name already. In fact, his time on ice this season — 19:23 — is the best of his career and is a sign of even better things to come.

It will be interesting to see what kind of storyline Prime Video pursues with Seth Jarvis. But we need not be too worried about it. Why? FACEOFF: Inside the NHL is the fifth hockey program Amazon has produced with NHL. So it’s safe to say that whatever storyline they choose to follow with Jarvis, they are going to do it right.
